Very interesting thread on 2s oils from HCS

Yes, I read pretty much the whole thread. Its nice to finally have these oils tested by a chemist who worked in the petroleum industry, so I can make an informed decision. No more "my friend who works at the oil bottler said" that we always had previously. This testing shows that alot of previous opinions on your favorite 2-stroke oil and "this is the same oil as x brand oil" is not true. :WayCool:

He also has another thread on gas additives/stabilizers and which ones work, and which ones don't for E-10.

I am back from the lab, and i promise to answer all questions that members have asked.
TESTED: Legend ZX-2SR: First off under the microscope this oil is not a synthetic oil, but an ultra pure highly refined mineral oil, the molecules are very small, the pour point was -54f. R.P.M. before brake down of the oil viscosity and film strength is unknown. My test unit only goes to 16,000 R.P.M. and the oil never broke down. This oil is going to be my new oil in my new rush switchback 800, and yes i checked the oil three times in my machines this oil is the best i have tested. I have to thank my friend jeff for giving me this oil to test.
FWIW:

I have run this oil for many years now. I have personally torn down several engines that used it. I was very pleased with the results. I am sticking with it. Is it the best oil, who knows but it is the best I have used.

Ding have you ever ran the cheaper one? It tested out very good, but not as good as the "special race" version.I'm gonna be at Novi tommorow and will check it out if there around again this year.

What really surprised me was that Amsoil interceptor failed his test and Yamalube 2s passed! He also said that its not the same as Citgo sea n snow which failed his test.

Somthing doesnt seem right he lists a TCw3 oil that passes amsoil and some other synthetics? Also at 50-1 at RPMs our motors dont see?

But if you read it in depth youd see someone else said the same as you. Hes giving rpms where the oil was completley broken down, so if he tested up to 9,000 rpm the oil was broken down but say at 8500 you can imagine the oils not doing its job effectivly. Its all in the materials used. Im sticking with my klotz R50

This guy is selling something, see eddie738 and the chemist pushing legend lubricants every couple pages. Also the low heat of his supposed machine isnt hot enough for some of the additives in the oil to work. 117f? No videos, no pics, nothing but he has tons of money lol And one of the most popular oil used (amsoil interceptor) is crap. I think that thread is a crock.

Amsoil dominator passed with flying colors so its not just a bash amsoil thing. He also went on to say that amsoil motor oil is some of the best available and is what he runs in his truck

Holy crap guys no pics or vids and people believe what this guy is saying like gospel? How hard would it be to post a pic or vid of this? Jerry Hall says he has some questions for him and I have a feeling "the chemist" wont be able to answer.

There's no doubt you can't believe everything you read or "think" you see on the internet...but it is still interesting...I too am always suspicious of internet self proclaimed "experts"

It is interesting but I wouldnt take it as gospel. He says the yamalube and the cheap citgo oil arent the same but I thought they were the same according to nosboy and others. Maybe he will post vids yet the post isnt dead yet ;)!

It appears like a fair investigation. Beforr legend he also goes on to say good things about ves and mystik jt4

Him and eddie are sneaky about it lol, im looking at a gas additive thread w those 2 on there pushing gas rx and hes answering questions w the wrong answers as well but people will believe what they see I guess. I will believe this test WHEN i actually see it lol ;)!

HOLY OIL BATMAN!!!!! Guys..just stick to a brand that performs well for you and forget about it.Amsoil here is very very expensive and not worth my time to throw my money away.Shell Advance is a good product at a better price. If you can find some oil made in China and it costs only $1 a liter and performs..use it. Scott you coming down tomorrow..gonna be warm.Looks like snow is coming for around the 18th.Last year our first snowfall was Nov 19 and I was riding..looked at my gas receipts and was buying gas already for the sleds.Only last year Premium was at $1.06/liter..today it is at about $1.25/liter.Damn oil companies just don't know when to quit making their Billions...never enough for them I guess.Need them Private Jets and their Gold Plated Mansions...
Got one thing for them..... :die: :die: :die: :rulez: #$%&*

You know what Doug, Jordan was suppose to call me back he wanted to learn how to clean carbs so I was gonna bring him down but of course I cant get a hold of him. Im not working this weekend but I worked all last weekend and early all week so im exhausted and not feeling the best. I will see how I feel in the morning but I have a long weekend next week so maybe then would be a better time to come.

you'll never get your sled done in time then.Next weekend weather will be going down..flurries starting next Friday. You have a lot to check out and your sled is in the back shed..no lights or heat there.I'll be sledding around the 18th because snow is supposed to be here...can't wait.
