I picked this snowmobile up a few weeks ago and was finally able to dig into it. The story I got was it would only run ~60mph and not go any faster. The previous owner took it to a dealer and was told the crank needed removed, trued, and welded. I have read up on the crank issues associated with these years. When I bought it, the previous owner had started removal of the engine so I was not able to see it run. I finished removing the motor and removed the crank lastnight. Unfortunately, the crank already been welded so I have to guess that is not the problem. I am dropping it off with my machinist tonight. I do believe it has a few bad bearings. Specifically the 2 on either side for the waterpump/oil pump drive gear. They spin smooth but slow. All of the others seem ok. The top end looks great. Any ideas on what may be the issue? It is a '99 SRX 600 with just under 6k miles.
Thanks in advance.
