the bad news keeps coming! CRANK!

the srx cranks are welded. if the bearings are tight when on the races there's nothing wrong with them. I don't think you have a crank problem here. I'd have it checked to be sure but those rollers are loose when you pull them off the race and will float around in the cages (for lack of a better term)

take a video of them bearings and spin them for us to see..they are probably still good.Once they have oil in them they will quiet down and spin straighter...

I'm going through the same thing right now with my Brother-in-Laws sled. All the bearings spin freely but seem noisy. I'll see if I can get a video also. The only bearings that don't seem noisy are the ones next to the oil/water pump gear but they actually seem to spin a bit hard. I believe these are actually ball bearing vs the others being roller bearings. Anyone have a crank sitting around they could check to compare to?

yes the 2 are balls vs the rest rollers. the rollers can make some noise when rolling. the key is if they are tight or sloppy

my two end bearings are same as yours. my two on either side of the pump gear are nice and quiet/smooth like yours. as for the other 3, well the middle one is actually just a seal, so you have no worries with that one. i dont think you are in as rough shapr as you think, the two beside the seal are needle bearing, they arent supposed to be as quiet as the ball bearings. mine is literraly almost identical to yours, and 9801srx inspected it and said he would run it in his sled in a second

did you spray all the bearings clean with brake fluid or something. If the bearings have no oil inside they will make more noise.Squirt some 2 stroke oil into them and they will quiet down and roll easier and you may find that they are good yet..

I'll try that. I did spray some fogging oil in them and still the same thing. The one bearing next to the PTO counter balance on the inside is much louder than the one next to the center cylinder.

Did you find the 2 ball-bearings next to the pump gear were a bit difficult to turn? These ones are smooth but don't spin freely like the roller bearings.

yup thats cuz they are ball bearings, the roller bearings are not tight like them because the rollers are whats rolling around the crankshaft, whereas the ball bearings have the actual race turning on the shaft, and not the bearings themself. my ball bearings were tight, but very smooth, just as if they were new

Well things might not be as bad as first expected then. I also noticed the 2bearings between PTO and center are not the same even though they look the same. One is a roller and one a ball bearing. Tha is why one seems to sound different and move around more. Also, all the roller bearings have holes in the outer race for oil so when running that might tighten things up a bit.
