the snow has returned....

With the warm and cold cycles we've had here the water is NOT frozen enough. Ok for Canada geese and ducks, but they can swim. Nothing like and wet machine and driver to take the fun out of a prospective good ride. Fresh snow hides a lot of sins and open areas. Water will never freeze or freeze further under a foot of snow. But sled will go down in the same spots.

Stick to terra firma and enjoy. There's got to be a lot around now that you've got some snow.

Enjoy

man it was crazy out today riding my SxR600.Tons of snow to bust and plough through.Ditch's filled in on service road,,around 3 to 4 feet deep powder.Sled had a tough time going thru that ,,but managed not to get stuck. She was reving in that stuff at 8500 dead on..and held for a while many times.Them 600 motors are bullet proof for sure. The River has another good 4 inches on her for a total of 6 inch's approx.Won't ride my SRX in the powder until it gets packed a little and gets colder out. This reminded me of the snow we first got in November of 2010.Nailed some good thick drifts along some tree lines..almost sunk her in there a couple of times..was close. Was a little mild today..around 0C..a little warm. But cool nailing this stuff and having snow flying over the windshield ontop of me..lol Dropped my gas gauge pretty quick riding the powder. In the bush off the River it is a good 12 inches plus of powder..man nice riding in that.
Scotty(bluemonster2) you are gonna love riding this stuff with your piped XTC 1.5 paddle track for sure...will do better then my sled for sure
..;)!

Glad for ya blue, I didn't even want to talk about all the snow we have gotten (130 or so inches). I'm am so tired of snowblowing. Hope you get some decent riding in. Soc

damn drift busting and deep snow riding has cut my gas mileage down to about 7 mpg instead of the normal 11 to 12....that stings a bit...:o|

if we had that here..how the hell do you get out of your house and were do you snowblow to...can't imagine that..

PICS WOULD BE NICE

That appear to be the same storm system head over her for the weekend but the dump is forecasted quite small in comparison. I doubt will open any trails in southern Ontario unless they're limited now which is crap still sled busters trails. Most of the south has and is closed all winter. The snow from last weekend is all gone with the green grass and dirt for a solid base, oh some mud..

I was ready this year and spent extra time, paid for the pass, license and insurance. Just to sit or go around the grass a bit. Lesson learned if I do it again. Looking for an ATV I think.

well just checked our forecast again..lots of snow coming this weekend..up to perhaps 15 cm..wow...we are just starting our winter it seems...:letitsnow

Here too! Calling for 6-8 inches by friday afternoon. Perfect timing. Have a family trip planned and the fresh snow will be welcome. Who knows maybe winter will show itself for at least the last month of winter.

well I had my share of snow blowing in my life here..I just finished cleaning the drifts of my deck and the Hot tub and did all the walks..and wouldn't you know..It started snowing again and is coming down steady.I can hardly see the cars on the HWY!!! WOW !! keep her coming,I won't mind snow blowing.I re built the whole front end of my snow blower, new belts..etc and modified the augers and it really rips now..not bad for an old snow blower that is more then 30 years old..10HP 33".....
Like I said earlier..winter is just starting..this snow and the weekend snow will be another bonus for good riding.Winds will pu to night to 60 km's,so more drifts will be formed..YA!!!:letitsnow:letitsnow:letitsnow

Them boys in Alaska must be pushing to down your way with a sigh of relief Blue. I hope you have enough gas set aside for the blower in case you get snowed in and don't have enough in your sled to make it to the gas station for fuel. LOL

Warm and sunny here +6 to +7 C, any warmer and I'd be able to have a beer on the deck at the spring grass!!!

both sleds are fueled to the top and got enough gas to fill the snow blower at least 5 times yet..so am good to go here.I am always prepared...thanks for the concern tripplec..lol:letitsnow:letitsnow:letitsnow

Good to here you have your supplies taken care of. Start you engines.
I know some people south of you down in Clearwater. I guess they've got snow now.

well you got the right sled for that snow with the 162 incher....;)!
Yeah, it works real well. Since we can't ride in the city limits, I just wish it wouldn't have snowed so much here in town. 1 or 2 feet would be plenty. It's supposed to snow more this weekend.
