You Might be an Idiot if...
Jeff Foxworthy did the "You might be a redneck if" thing. While I was in northern wisconsin last week I saw a bunch of snowmobilers doing things that made me think of posting this. We all talk about about stuff we see "other" snowmobilers do that we think are bad for the sport. This is the what I saw other people doing.
"You Might be an Idiot If"
1) you spin your track on trails with little snow
2) you spin your track in the corners just because you can
3) you spin your track at intersections and stop signs
4) you pass on twisty trails without being waved by
5) you pass on blind uphill sections
6) you have loud pipes and you like to brap brap in town
7) you like to jump snowbanks in the hotel parking lot
8 ) you like to go off trail where it is marked "stay on trail"
9) you drive so fast you can't stay on your side of the trail in corners
10) you don't pay attention to the traffic coming up behind you and wave faster sleds by
If you are doing any of these things you can count on the people I ride with will think you are an "idiot". Just in case you didn't know.
Sorry for the tone of this, but I just saw too many people doing this stuff. It's no wonder town folks don't like sledders..

Well the idiots here in Michigan love riding before there is enough snow on the trails to set up.. I can understand the itch to ride. But why ruin the trails for the season?

You might be a Idiot
Your right, you guys that go off the trail where it is marked to stay on the trail are Idiots. You guy's are the reason why we keep losing trails each year. If this was your land and you posted those signs (for whatever reason) and some Idiots ignored those signs like some people do,then you have no respect for the sport or other people. We do not want to loose the trails that we have and to do this you must play by the rules. If you cannot play by the rules then get out of the sport and let the rest of us enjoy it.

What you said, True.
I've caught myself doing idiotic things in the past, but I wise up a little each year. 2 years ago, we found this perfect hill with untouched snow late in the season, there were cuts to climb to the top, and we challenged eachother to make it to the top. After we were done playing king of the hill, we see a no tresspassing sign facing the other direction! I felt like an ***. If the owner was around, I'd apologize to his face, and help him put another sign or two up.
If it's not state land, stay off! It's up to us as individuals to look good to non sledders, even in the bar getting lunch. I see sledders having hard liquior with thier lunches, and I have to bite my tongue. I make sure to ask them where they're heading, and go the other way.
I guess what I'm getting at is that there is a million ways to screw up and do something dumb, or let your guard down at the wrong moment. Be diligent, be aware of your surroundings, and be conscious of the consequences of your actions.
Happy sledding!

Thank's Tom for backing me on this one. If we want to keep enjoying this great sport there are some things that we must obey by, period.

i agree also this is the same reason why the are no ATV trails in maine anymore, because of the few idiots that go out and tear up posted land, fortunatly sledders don't really tear anything up except snow, meaning not ruining someones land.... it's frusturating.. i used to haul a small drag with my grizzly and some sledders would stop and give me a hard time for being on the trails "tearing them up" then they take off all pissed and leave big *** pile of snow along with a 30-40 foot trench in the middle if a nicely groomed trail jack asses.. just respect other peoples land, believe it or not we are the minority here

the thing i cant stand is a person who has never been on a sled before, goes out and buys the biggest sled he can get his hands on and rides way to fast and out of control!!! cant count how many times i have picked them out of the toolies
