The factory adjustment washers are 1mm thick[.040"]

Adding the washer does raise the belt it allows the sheaves to come closer together.

all I used were rivet washers, they are very cheap and very available. How much they raise the belt will depend on how worn your belt is and how worn the adjustment screws are. If the tips are worn off it may take a washer just to make up for that. then perhaps another to actually start to adjust the belt height. Is the belt new?

Rustman, correct me if I am wrong but if the tips were worn off the adjustment screws would that not produce the same result as having no washer, allowing the sheaves to come closer togther and adding a washer at that point would do nothing?
The belt is brand new but sitting too low, and I belv u would add washers to raise, just curious how much a washer actually raises the belt

That brand new belt isn't a CH is it ?
