2000 sxr 700. Tomorrow morning taking my biggest plunge ever. Tired of paying 200.00 to have done. I know i had previous thread but one more question. What kind of cheap tool is good to clean the holes? And be specific, i am toooo dumb with all this..thanks. im not touching floats as im taking babysteps. Is this ok?

You're going to need some carb cleaner in a can for sure. Do you have access to an air compressor? I've never used it but some of the compressed air would probably work. Hopefully the jets and small fuel/air holes in the carb body are not clogged up too bad. Wear safety glasses and spray into every orifice you can and make sure it comes out somewhere. IF the pilot jets are clogged, try the carb cleaner and air. If that doesn't work I have used a thin piece of wire to clean it out. Do not alter the size of the holes. You should be able to see a nice round hole when they are clean.
Make sure you have the right size phillips screwdriver to remove the float bowl screws also, since they can strip out fairly easy. Really the floats should be removed but atleast spray cleaner into the inlet elbows (where you took your fuel lines off) hold the carb rack right side up and make sure there is cleaner flowing out where the inlet needle is. Do you know anyone who has mechanical knowledge who can help you?
Take your time and post questions if you have them.

Where do you guys pick up the Allen screws to replace the float bowl screws with?
I picked mine up at Lowe's. Couldn't get stainless but whatever, I've had non-stainless ones on my bike for 6 yrs. now and no problems.

Thinking they were like $1 a peice at Tractor supply (AKA quality farm n fleet) for the stainless ones for allen head, Anythings better than the phillips heads!

Just replaced mine

I just now replaced mine with allen wrench heads. Only snafu I had was I didn't know kow important is was to have washers under them.(like factory). I got metric stainless, but wanted a really tight fit on the washers. Nice thing is the washers fit soo tight that they do not come off, hence you wont loose them. Just my 2 cents :letitsnow
