Well after a new used stator and flywheel on the Srx I run into another issue. Now I can start the sled it seems to be running great from what I can tell on the stand. Now when the sled goes to idle down, itll be going down good untill about 1500 and then it quits. Not a bog out quit more like I hit the killswitch. Carbs are fresh cleaned today with fresh gas.

I need a new sled lol
 
How long does it run? SOunds like something simple. According to the weather forecast you have lots of time........sad....How many miles? I had an 01 and it was solid! Beat that thing bad....that was a few years ago....smarter and bones are more fragile now ha!
 
TORS is bypassed.
The sled will run at 1600 rpm if I barely hold the throttle all day long. No throttle itll idle down to 1500-1300 and just quit. If I dont touch the throttle on start up the sled will fire and die immediatly. The sled has around 14,000 miles on it. Ive done one rebuild at 7600m just the top end. Compression numbers are still great in all 3.
 
throttle cable too loose, just starting with the simple things. could be plugged pilots again as well, i had to clean a set of carbs 3 times before they stayed clean.
 
I'm guessing you have checked this as well, and don't too much about it. But I believe there was a rub through issue on the SRX's. I also second the possibility of plugged pilot jets.
 
I had a relay behind the left dash panel cause my sled not to run one time. I think it had something to do with the headlights.
 
I agree, check the pilots as by holding the throttle on a little it will give it more fuel by lifting the needle. Also, if the crank has too much run out it could be a crank seal issue. At low throttle, it may be very hard for scavenging to happen in the engine if not drawing a proper vacuum in the crankcase. Run and hold/spray something flammable(carefully) between the clutch and engine housing.
 
Sounds like idle jets it is possible they could have picked something up that was in the line after cleaning they are so small the littlest thing can screw it up if u leave the choke on and it stays running its deffenitly the jets
 
Choke or not it still does this.....

I also switched relays with another pair, then unplugged completley....same result.

Guess ill pull the carbs and look at some wires.

Here is something you can try to isolate the problem. Start the engine and see if you can get it to idle in that 1300-1500 rpm range by lifting the choke lever just enough to try to keep it running in that rpm range. You may have to back-off the idle screw a little to accomplish that. What this will do is supply fuel independent of the pilot jets. It will also allow the throttle to be in the closed position. If the engine continues to run in that range after this test, it is most likely plugged up pilot jets. If it still dies it is most likely electrical. The engine dies very quickly like something is grounding out. Sounds nice n crisp while feathering the throttle though.
 
its shutting off w choke on sounds electrical shuts off quick its a stretch but hows the plug gap and is it hard starting
 
try starting it up and switching the headlight from low to high beam, see if the tach and the idle changes, if so, the harness is rubbed under the engine.
 
Pull the handlebar pad and unplug the kill switch connector. I had an issue with my SX600 that sounded like what you are experiencing. The safety switch inside the throttle lever/kill switch assembly had broken and was shorting out the ignition. Just a thought.
