Cracked sheave?

I noticed these marks that looks like cracks on the inside of the primary sheave.
Ive posted pics below. I've never seen any clutch with marks like that, is this a potential problem? Will it eventually crack all the way?

Also, do these slide thingys have to be replaced?

The yamaha belts are so hard this is what happens with idleing over the years.You must have some miles on your sled and yes it is common to see on a southern ontario trail sled.

I have replacment parts for your clutch if you want pm me.The slides dont wear to mutch but can been checked and replaced if the clutch rocks at all when you slide it back and forth.

Yes it will crack all the way and it will destroy all kinds of stuff which could include the crankshaft, I just seen one let go on a buddies sled wow what a mess. He bought a used one from a member on here for $175.
 
That's normal with a sled with miles..... Just keep an eye on them..... Have gone over 5000 miles with what looks like that.... No change........

So if I use it the way it is and just keep an eye on it I should be ok?
Also, are most yamaha clutches the same? Like is a clutch off a viper the same as a clutch off a rx1?
And just change the fingers and roller?

Mid 90's through a 2012 clutches are all the same I think, the dealer would charge you about $275 to put a brand new moveable sheve on it I have seen the cracks get pretty long before they got changed out but after I just saw the damage on my buddies sled I would not take a chance I mean you should see the hole that one of the weights made right through the foot sturip and the belt guard looks like swiss cheese.
 
Ya keep an eye on it.

When you see a clutch come through the roof and or out the side of your sled you'll know why cracked clutches should be fixed.

It's a safety issue that can kill. No one in their right mind would say it's fine if they had to be responsible for the possible consequences. Now you know the potential so who's responsible?

Fix it an be safe.

Both sheaves are like that, so I am just gonna get a used clutch with low miles and change the weights, rollers and spring.
$225 for a used clutch seems like pretty cheap insurance to me
If it is gonna destroy stuff down the road

The black marks on your old clutch tell me that your belt is running to tight you should check your engine alingment and center to center distance and get that dialed in with your new clutch.

If the belt was to tight wouldn't it just sit a little lower in the secondary?
Just a thought.

Yes it would sit lower in the secondary thus turning the helix and pulling against the spring and at idle making the primary clutch heat up (down in the bottom on the steel shiny part) and creating stress cracks in the primary sheaves.
If you you dial your shit in tight and keep it clean it will treat you good, like my ride for example the clutches are so dialed in that i could go do 10 radar runs in a row back to back and I can put my hand right on the primary sheaves with out burning my fingers its just warm, and that there my friend is zero belt slippage and that is a beautiful thing my belt will last a long time and my sheaves will last thousands and thousands of miles longer then a stock setup.
And oh ya im putting a lot of torque to the track to.
P.S you want the belt sitting flush at the top of the secondary and no belt squeal when idling with a used belt.

Wow, that does suck.
My buddy's clutch blew two weeks ago, chunks of the spider were spitting out at him through the vents. Picked up a used clutch and put it on and then noticed the spider was cracked on that cluth too! And we couldn't get it off with a puller so we ended up cutting it off

My ride has a over 4000 miles on it the belt has 140 miles and its sitting flush in the secondary and it measures exactly 268.5 mm from center to center sheave distance and I would not change a thing, this thing is spot on.
