Help chain case 98 vmax xtc

Hey guys I am new to the 2 stroke side. I bought the wife a 1998 vmax xtc 500 and trying to change the chain case oil no big deal normally. Well it has reverse and I can not seem to get the cover off or find a drain plug??
Any ideas would be great!

Not familar with that model but have you looked inside the tunnel?

good idea I will go check it out. I really dont wanna mess with all that reverse linkage.

Just pull out the dipstick and suck the oil out the hole with an extractor.....probably help to warm it up with a car heater if ifs cold

If you look inside the tunnel you will find A drain bolt, it has A 12 mm head.To pull the cover off you must remove the 4 bolts around the cover and one bolt in the middle of the cover with a 10 mm head. chaincase holds 250 cc gear oil. Dont loose the washer on the idler gear shaft when you pull the cover.
