Hear its rain, wet snow, snow powder if you're luck further north, and more rain/wet snow with at or above freezing so its melting behind us.
Most of my ride was done within a few degrees of the freezing mark. Most was wet snow or hard pack frozen wet snow. 25% powder when I was much further north this weekend. There are even large partial frozen ponds of water around in low spots. A groomer just yesterday drove through one break it up as far as we could see with 1.5 thick slabs floating around. A receipe for disaster if we tried to sled through it either getting stuck on a potentionally icey bottom or have one of them ice slabs get into the track and pushed breaking something. It effectively close the trail we were going to run yesterday.
Our sledding season is extremely short getting value out of an costly sled here is almost impossible without going to great lengths to go to it.

i just ran district 2( started in uxbrige and endded in fenlon falls area) e 108 was brutal but the rail lines were amazing

I agree the rail line were also good on E106 E212 the other day. Just enough coverage. Other trails were pretty rough, frozen hard pack with plenty of moggles. PEC trails west of Picton were very bad never groomed towards Consecon. Their rail lines are the worst of all as I have only just started venturing north of Belleville and see what they can be like. A huge difference with a smoother base. We just did not get enough snow as powder and the carbine track can self navigate you all around. LOL

Been pounding out the miles this past week, about 3000 or so.
Trails were pretty good after the cold spell tightened them up, but theyre getting thin in places after this past weekend invasion. lol
Temps are slightly above zero for the next two weeks but below freezing overnight. One more weekend of visitors and that will be the end of decent trails around here.
Picked up another SRX 700 to tinker with. Fella rode it right to my house from the trails and I gave him a lift back to the motel his crew was staying at. Said he was done with the old girl.
