My SRX's future is bright

My front Ohlins are 213 mm (total length of spring) with 8 clicks out for dampening force. My Stopper Band is set at 32 mm (yours is at 20 mm which is less weight on skis, more weight transfer). My front mono is 190 mm and rear is 306 mm. Full rate adjuster is at "B" position.

So I guess I should be 1 click out on the front shocks for dampening force and stopper band should be 20 instead of 32?

Sled as is handles like crap.

Doug,

Can you do me a favour and check your specs and see how they compare to mine? I am a 190 lbs rider. I am going to change the limiter straps to 20 mm from 32mm. What else is different with your setup compared to my stock settings? Thanks Doug. I want a starting point.

first off I am long travelled now..so don't know if my specs will be good.Everything is frozen on the skid in my shed. Can't even get any measurements for you now.
From my notes the center shock is set at 197 mm. Rear is set at 316 mm.
I am on the softer side of things, but doesn't mean it will be good for you.But you can start at this and increase as you need.I am not perfect with mine, just know it does steer a little better then before You can tell when your front ski's have to much pressure on them, the steering gets harder.I can even try and lengthen my straps more..but for this season already it is staying.I am not expert on skid setup.Just have to go and adjust and see how it feels or handles the corners for you.
I checked yesterday and my Front Ohlins where 13 clicks out,so I put it back to 8 clicks and will see how it handles or needs more.Simple to adjust on the trail anyways.Conditions are getting a little rough and harder now ..my back can feel it again.Didn't ride much yesterday as it was cloudy and misty like and couldn't really see good(snow blindness effect going on) Hit a few good chunks on the River and my back is a little sore today..
I really hate when someone spins out a huge pile and I come along and nail it with 1 ski at 80...wait wasn't that me who spun out them piles...lmao.. :o|

hey blue never did it but does the little flat screw adjuster in the front shock does something ....I never play with it

if you mean the dial on the Ohlin's..yes it does.Turn it out and everything gets stiffer. If I turn it all the way out..cannot push front end down by the bumper. If I put it at 1 click..I can push bumper and front just goes down..

Thanks Doug. Monos look close so I will leave those alone and just lengthen limitier straps and go from there. Still need to chase the wet plug and loss of top RPM. Putting a new coil in tomorrow for PTO side. It's either the coil, loose main jet (might have forgotten to tighten it up last time cleaned carbs :o| :o| :o| ) wire harness or stator. Will post back what I find out tomorrow when I start working on it.

had the SRX out a little yesterday, getting warmer out..but the motor just revs nice now.WOT run yesterday at 8500 dead on.Motor sounds really good..I believe changing the stator improved things for me as it never sound so crisp and snappy before..

Sled is kept 2 hours away from me in a barn. I think it may be the stator but the last thing I want to do when I get up there is chase down electrical issues. I just want to ride dammit. :sled2: :sled2: :sled2:

Well.......My SRX's future isnt looking as bright as i thought. Lost two races today against 2 of my buddies sleds. Race one was against a '97 Vmax SX 700 with pipes, reed spacers, clutching and head work. Got me by a good two lengths out of the hole and held it all the way across the lake :whine: Race two was against a piped '03 F7. Got me out of the hole by maybe 3 lengths and then pulled another length by the end of the race :o| Looks like I'm either going to have to do some more ponies under the hood of the 'ol SRX 600 or upgrade.....can't stand going from the 2nd fastest sled in the crew to 4th.

hey blue can I unscrew till its stop ??or the screw will come off
you are talking about your front Ohlin's mod.The older ones you had to use a little flat key to turn the settings. On mine there is a dial there. It will stop once it gets to the end..somewhere around 21 clicks I believe.
When the screw pops off..just have a container handy to catch the fluid mod..

LMAOROF!!! just pulling your leg mod..it should stop..it better..
