what's better redhead triple or viper triple

The new ripsaw II when seen in person reminds me of the Cobra. It doesn't have the jagged lugs like the old Ripsaw and it has a softer durometer rubber with better flex like my Cobra track has.

Here is a photo of it off the new SR Viper I took at the Mpls. showing:

So whats a good track to run on the sx700's? I still have the original track with a ton of missing lugs and it sucks!!

Lighter, shorter lugs are always better for top speed.
There are so many good tracks available it all depends on what your primary riding style and conditions are goin to be...if it were me...for a 121" trail SX I would run a 1" Rip Saw II, or maybe a ice ripper.

I ran the Ice Ripper for half a season on my Viper. I did not care for it at all. On icy corners I hardly noticed it and the lug design was nothing more than the older version of the original Ripsaw. As for speed when I was in Michigan this Feb. we stayed behind Pat's Yamaha in Greenland. I was scouring through their back shed with their mechanic and he showed me a 1" lug track with a Yamaha part# that he said the guys that want to run for speed use. It is 14" wide. He said it picks up about 6 MPH on top end average.

Back in the mid to late '90's I ran a 1" Challenger track with every third window closed. It was only 32lbs. and it had awesome top end. I had it on my 1993 SX Exciter and my 1997 SX600. My old man ran it on a Vmax 600 too. They don't make it anymore which is ashame. It was a model 9791 Camoplast. All the Challengers are now deep lug like 1.75".

The track I put the most of the 9000+ miles on my Viper with was a 9818 Camo 1.25" Predator. It also had every third window closed and weighed 36lbs. Awesome track but new one is 39lbs and has all windows open.

Sorry for getting off topic!!!

As far as reliability goes......redhead- not even a contest. It's a gas-n-go engine. As far as tracks go- what BM2 said. 1 inch Aggressor or Ultimate Traction. Would probable be the last track you would on that sled. Imo- the Aggressor is better suited for deeper stuff and the UT is more suited for all around riding. There is literally not one other track that is made with the Kevlar in the Aggressor.
