Spoke with Jim @ Boss a few days ago via email and am planning on ordering one up soon for my Viper. Does anyone have any experience with new generation seats? I have read some mixed review threads on Boss. Seems like their older seats were good, then there was a couple of years when they were shit, but haven't found many recent threads regarding new seats. I am looking to get one of the high rise flat top seats with all of the storage compartments. Anyone have a new one that can comment on the fit and finish? Hoping to get one ordered before summer if they are as good as they sound/look. Thanks!

The newest versions are great. Got 2 of them last year and they were simply awesome. Great storage, kept everything dry. No zipper problems and the fit seemed perfect to me. I may pick up one more for daughters sled myself.

Thanks! I actually read over on hardcoresledder that Boss is going to no longer be making seats starting sometime this month. Anyone read or heard this?

Anyone know if custom seat heights are available? I'd really like a +2.

Yup no more seats after this seasons orders. The standard high rise is 3" taller. Not sure you would need any higher on a pro action chassis sled. You sit up quite a bit.
I purchased a Boss seat for my SRX which is not much different than my Viper. Seat is great after you shave off a lot of foam in the front at the tank area. Other than that seat is great.super1c said:Yup no more seats after this seasons orders. The standard high rise is 3" taller. Not sure you would need any higher on a pro action chassis sled. Just an FYI to all...
I had emailed Jim @ Boss regarding them no longer making seats.
This was his response:
"we are still making seats. All seats are made in America. You can call and order seats at any time. We are not going to stop building seats. Please spread the word."

So, just ordered my Boss seat from Randy @ GoBigParts. Already can't wait for it to get here!
Anyone have suggestions on what I should get as far as new handlebars/risers go?
I'm 5'7'' and would like the bars to be comfortable sitting on the Boss as well as standing.

I did the apex handlebar mod and they are really nice. My handle bar stuff starts at about post #117 http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86904&page=12&pp=10. I also really liked snowprokids set up from RSI and almost went with that. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=82502 Or just a simple ROX 3 1/2 pivot riser will work also just have to be careful with the cables.

Thanks! I was thinking about going with powermadd parts along with their extended throttle cable and brake line. I like the RSI setup, though.

With that set up they use the simple bar adapter (called pivot tube) to accept the RSI riser block and i think a 6" block and the flat bars. Comes out to be about 3" total rise over stock. Looks higher cause of the block. Here is that post adapter http://www.rsiracing.net/catalog/index.php?cPath=19 The one for $12. The other one will add another 3/4". Not sure you can get away with that. Was here so answered for ya hundo, just correct anything i got wrong! LOL!

All the possible setups for handlebars and risers confuses me...not sure why! haha
I think I need to take my stock ones apart to get a first hand look at what I am dealing with.

How does that handlebar setup do for standing?

Amazing. My arms are just under being straight out when sitting and standing as long as you're not knees locked it works good. The bars being almost vertical makes it easy to throw around...
