Thanks, all!
Still undecided on exactly what route I want to go regarding how much rise and possibly new bars. I am going to wait until I get the seat on there, then see how much rise I want to go with for comfort. I am thinking 3 inches will be good for standing, so hopefully it'll be good for sitting as well.
I have read that these seats are about 3 inches taller than the stock viper seats. Can anyone confirm this?

i had a boss flattop on my viper and went with a rsi back country bend handlebar (so i can still use stock pad) and a rox anti-vibe riser. stock cables still worked, but you couldn't go any higher with this combination. i'm 5'10" and could almost stand up with straight arms.

Yes, 3" taller on the seat. My bar riser setup was very comfortable while sitting with the taller seat. I am 6' and like the bar height for standing, but was worried about fatigue while seated. It was great for me. I had lots of room to move around.

How much rise did you have for the bars? I'm 5'7''

I have a 2.5 pivot and 4 inch riser if I remember right. My elbows are slightly bent when standing. You can shorten the riser block and maybe use stock cables. They also make angled solid blocks that tip them forward and rise. A friend of mine did a 3 inch one with stock cables but he had stock seat. He's 5-9. Lots of info on the site!

If your after simple just spring for the rox 3" PIVOT riser. Easy enough to do with stock bars and cables. No brainer!! If you want more just PM one of us for exact set up. With stock bars and cables your looking at a 3"-3 1/2" Max riser with bars pushed forward. Or any combo like hundo and i described.

Here's a picture of my new seat, not yet installed. I ordered in early July and it came 9-10 weeks later. The seat division of Boss is now under new ownership.
Fix/finish are pretty much what I expected. I can see where people might want to remove foam at the gas tank, but I will not. Material quality appears top notch and the seat top is grippier than stock. I can't say yet if it was worth $600 but I definitely like the new seating position and the 'plushness' of the foam. It's not much lighter than the OEM Viper seat, maybe 0.5 pounds max.
I'll be using it with a 2" straight bar riser.

We routinly ride 200 to 300 miles a day. The BOSS seats are so good, All of our sleds have a Boss Seats. You will love it. What did you decide to do with the Tail light?? Al

For a tail light I'm thinking about something I can bolt the back of my soon-to-be extended tunnel.

Damn, ordered like 2 months after me and got it before me! Who'd you order through? Im glad to see it's under new ownership because in my experience, Jim was terrible.

I ordered directly through Boss. When I called to enquire the new owner said, "Yep, here it is, it'll go out tomorrow" and it did. Maybe I got yours
I plan to use a Nytro tail light, on a tunnel extension.

You will really like the look and function of the nyto tail light. The colors are different on the nyto pigtail then the viper harness and different plugs. I just cut and hardwired. Let me know if ya need help matching up the wires i have the color match up writen down in my notes.

The Boss seat is the single best improvment made to our machines. I have seen many others seats, all are either gaudy looking or just plain too soft and squishy. I like the initial firm seat. Our body's need to have the hip joint slightly higher than the knee joint for comfortable riding. Like I have posted in the past, we have 4 Boss high seats. I will never get rid of any. Al

So i got my seat on and pretty pleased with it. Love the huge cargo pockets. Install was simple, but the velcro seems pretty cheesy. Anyways, what does everyone recommend for extending the handlebars now? I'd like to go the most simple route as possible with the bar setup...thanks!

No cable changes a 2" rox pivot riser with a 1"block riser for 3" total. Ran that for a couple years and was a good match. They make a 3 1/2 rox piviot riser but its a bit tight. Bars have to be forward and controls slid in a tad on bar.
