WELCOME TO THE PARTY
the colors should look cool is this sled for rideing or racing

Hey Glen, yeah the colors should look great on the snow! Alex is building his sled for strictly mountain riding, no racing.

The current setup for the gauge cluster was a mess to the point that the A/F Ratio gauge was mounted directly under the handlebar mountain loop, so you couldn't fit your glove in there very well. Alex bought these nice gauge brackets from Dave at Powderlites. They are being sent in for powdercoating "Neon Orange".
How do I get a hold of some of those gauge mounts?

You can go to Powderlite's website. The bracket was only about $20 + the shipping cost. I couldn't fabricate those for that cheap. I think the instrument cluster bracket was about the same price too.

Hmm I checked the website and didn't find it. Look like what I want anyway maybe I'll call them.

You might have to scroll around the website. It took me awhile to find them on their sight as well. They have the boost gauge/ A/F ratio gauge brackets on the sight, but not the bracket for the factory gauge cluster, you'll have to call Dave for that particular piece. Good luck!

Ok, it has been a while... we were hung up on the Denali Running Board Inserts being fabricated and waiting on completion of all the parts being powdercoated.

We didn't receive any communication for an ETA on when the custom Denali inserts would be finished, so we scraped that order and I had Mike @ Tri-M Welding, LLC in Chetek, WI fabricate our inserts based on our print. Mike does incredible work!

The pics below show the custom tunnel after being sprayed with premium Gloss Black "Line X" bedliner spray. We are very happy with the quality and look of their product and the ridgidity of the liner. It should hold up excellent in the mountain riding enviroment. This will also eliminate Alex ever having to worry about powdercoating or paint peeling on the tunnel over time.

There is also a few pics of the few parts that are mocked up and powdercoated Neon Orange.

Here is a quick pic of a few parts that just came back from powdercoating; they turned out awesome for quality and finish... it's definitely "bright".

Here is another pic of the Powderlite's gauge mounting brackets after powdercoating. You can see how we were able to clean up the wiring around the steering area compared to the original pics when Alex first bought the sled.

This also shows the new Lake Effects polished 11" riser block installed; such a nice piece to the sled.

We pretty much now have everything that we need to finish up the sled, other than a few miscellaneous parts that we are waiting to come back from powdercoating and the 1-piece Mountain Mod Hood.

All new rubber coolant and fuel hoses have been re-done, re-wiring is finished, and the project is coming together. We will have more pics coming of the project as it continues to go back together; including the assembly of the suspension next!

The new suspension is going together nicely. We are just waiting on the billet rear idler wheels to arrive next week. Alex purchased a Cat setup for Yamaha 162" rails. It is a Timbersled Mountain Tamer coupling system and very light. We added a few detail touches with chrome polished fastening hardware.

New aluminum tig-welded front bumper. We ditched the factory plastic bumper and decided to try something different. Its going in today to be sprayed with LineX. Hopefully, it will hold up well against brushes with trees and sapplings.

Here's a quick pic of the Powderlites relocation instrument cluster bracket installed after being powdercoating Neon Orange. Alex bought a real nice takeoff '09 Apex instrument cluster from Howard Haack on Ebay.

I threw the old busted up siliconed cluster next to the new one for comparison, still mounted on the old cobbled up aluminum bracket... much cleaner!

LOOKING GOOD Pal I like the custom bumper

Thanks Glen! Yeah it's coming together nicely and Alex should have an eye-catching mountain sled thats ready to rip in a few weeks! Alex has done a great job on picking out quality parts to build this sled, no shortcuts along the way.

Justin fire me a pm with your phone #. I can't access the vmax4 web site to get your # and would like to speak to you.

Here are our new custom running board inserts that I had built by a good friend and fabricator Mike Murchy of Tri-M Welding, LLC in Chetek, WI. I'm really liking these! Now its time to get them powdercoated!

Update photos... the Turbo Apex is almost complete and down to some final touches. The sled should be finished and complete by Friday, October 4th (except for the 1-piece "Mountain Mod" hood, which will be here it about 2-weeks). These pics show the finished Yamaha 162" suspension with Timbersled "Mountain Tamer" coupling set up, finished front end, and our custom running board inserts powdercoated and installed with chrome hardware. Sled (engine) is running again very nicely too!

Alex and I will be taking it on the 5th to the Black Hills Boondocker's Winter Kick-off Open House in Lead, SD to put on display, can't wait!
