Looks like you have really thought this through. I will definitely be stealing ideas from this thread. I have been going back and forth with myself between getting an Apex or a new Viper. After reading and seeing this I am leaning towards Apex again.
Good job, I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

I've got to say Bob, you sure do nice work. I could use some measure from your 136 mono if you wouldn't mind taking them. Just bought one to put in my Viper.

No problem...I have the sled still disassembled so will be easy to do.
I'll send you a PM over the weekend.

do these apex sleds have a shield that covers the headers/y-pipe in the tunnel? that thing must take a thermal beating to get hot/cold if its sprayed by snow all the time.

No shield underneath the exhaust on my Attak [see last pic in post 17].

Bob, Looks awesome! I have a couple questions Are The red wheels over sized? and what type of wheel did you put up front on the rails?( white)I have a 2010 Apex LTX and of course I have the Hyfax wear issues up front on the rail bend? I love your attention to detail! Keep us posted on your work.

The Red wheels are oversize part number 04-053-22 from royal distributing in Canada.
The white wheels are a left over anti-stab kit from a previous project sled.

Finished the sled today!
I put the Attak back on the scales.
When I started it weighed:
-with as much fuel syphoned from tank as I could but otherwise full fluids ready to ride....615lbs which would be approx 590lbs dry
Today when I put the Attak on the scales it weighed:
-with as much fuel syphoned from tank as I could but otherwise full fluids ready to ride...560lbs which would be approx 535lbs dry
So I dropped 55lbs from the weight of the sled as well as added a cooler and heavy duty drive shaft that together probably added 5lbs.
My target was to reduce the weight by 60lbs so I am real close. To get this sled any lighter would take cubic $$$ !!
