chisel for 660

If your running in a pro event and speed tracks are allowed you should make the investment and run the same studs you had planned to run. Penetration will be just over 1/2 ".
If you run the 1.075 studs in the track you have I doubt you will hook up! As the track gets rutted things will get worst.

either on weights if this is ice/ drag racing in 660. run 8bu-00 for racing in 660 on ice. 21-40 gearing and 192 1.200 woodys chisels. 3:16 (yammie tony)

its not in any event if for fun with friend ..some run nitrous some not all different kind of sled ...i can get a track that been shaved down but after that i will need to put back on my track if i wanna go in snow so now sure i wanna go that way ...what is the less penetration u want with chisel

i don't wanna start a fight of what should i use in clutching..i know every one got is own set up...only got 8bu-10 and 89a10 in my tool box

WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT FIGHT. YOU POSTED YOUR RACING IN 660. BEST WEIGHTS FOR THIS APP ARE THE 8BU-00. you did not post if this is a event or playing on a lake. run whatever weights sled feels best with. LOL. 3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)

thnx all for those good tip ....i will give u back some result of how it work

playing on the lake tony we made a 1000 ++feet track ...but will be running 66o.....i never play with those 8bu-00 so im out of idea about the best clutch set up with them and don't have them in my tool box ...no one said something about a fight just doesn't want to start something ....so tony since i don't have the 8bu what would be your second choice

ICE IS THE FASTEST SURFACE YOU WILL EVER RUN ON. TAR IS VERY CLOSE. THAT,S WHY TRACTION IS HUGE ON ICE. AS FAST AS ICE IS ,ITS VERY FRUSTRATING HAVING A SLED WAG ITS TALE All THE WAY DOWN THE STRIP. TRY BOTH YOUR WEIGHTS. THEIR BOTH VERY GOOD. YOU KNOW I LOVE THE 8BU-10,s. 3:16 (yammie tony)

89a10 weights
2.4 middle and 3.6 tip
y/w/y primary spring
52/42 helix with green at 70-80 depends on traction

awesome i got all the right stuff for that set up ....spot on for the helix just need to see what in my 89a-10

that set up ran 98mph on the tar with a 1.49 60ft, so on ice, with sharp picks you should get better traction.
You said it was just friends palying around, not many people will be doing almost a 100mph in 660ft just playing around.
Any set up you use will GREATLY depend on how well the rest of your sled is set up chassis and gearwise. I gave you this one because it was just a stock srx set up, and nothing special done to sled, just basic 15 wide track and stock suspension, slightly lowered . Should be very compareable to trail sled set up.
If it would have been really set up the 60ft would have been down into the low-mid 1.3's.

it should also overev slightly which is exactly what you need, 8600-8700rpm at the end of 660ft.

exactly don ..not mutch guy there touch the 100 mph ..all around 95 to 98 some slower .....if i can hit 92 mph ill be happy and push them a little lolll

My 8bu-10 setup was in my 2002 srx. Slightly lowered, stock track, 150 pound driver, 192 studs, filtered in chisels and ice picks rock hard glare ice. I mean hockey game ice. 1000 f.t. On stalker and gps 110mph in 1000 f.t. That day there was a guy there with a f-7 that beat me once for speed with a 112. Don,s right on though, you have to have good SET-UP on ice. 3:16 (yammie tony)

didn't get my chisel in time ..I will put a walhs speed track with 196 1 inch ice pick ...does it sounds good to hook up very good

It's probably more picks than you need but it will probably hook up better than the 1 inch track with chisels. When I first got my speed track it had 240 ice picks in it. Spun a lot out of the hole and ran 98.6 in 660, went to 120 picks virtually no spin when ice was fresh, speed dropped to 91 mph and of course the ET dropped.

Hope to hook good to have fun with friend ... I hope the slide doesnt heat .. IT got no hole to cool down

Rule of thumb is 1 1/2 pics per hp. ......more for competition......remember do not understud that's how pull throughs happen.....too much load on too few pics!
