I raced a 97 vmax 700 stock against my viper and he won. How is that possible?
anything is poosible, its all about the set up. The better set up sled wins..period. This is the same reason why you can wax a thundercat with a srx thats set up and the thundercats not.
now on to playing the devils advocate..... on the comparisons, I would hope a sx with that many changes would beat a STOCK viper, come on, your comparing eggs and apples other then the fact they are both 700 snowmobiles.
If you make the comaparison the same, via long travel to long travel, stock clutching, stock gearing, everything stock the viper will walk right on by a sxr.
you guys are comparing a short travel skid, clutching, gearing, porting, thinned headgasket, reeds, transfer rods, a whole host of extensive mods to a bone stock sled...................... mod sled to a stock sled........
redheads are good little engines but they are 113-115hp , thats all......."stock" now, not all modded up...
.
I guess it really all comes down to whats the meaning of "stock"....LOL, that should open up some worms....
