I'm installing reverse on my srx using a parking break cable, I'm going to try to keep my parking brake functional, run a separate cable and parking brake lever.
and was wondering if anyone had pics of how they used the parking brake cable on reverse. I have a welder so if I need to weld of a bracket that's no problem.

Ya, I have a parking brake lever and cable I'm mounting on the throttle side. Don't want to cut a hole in the hood incase I want to remove the reverse if I ever sell it. Plus I think it would be cool to have it like that.
I figured out how in going to do it so I'll make a bracket and post pics when I'm done. Hopefully it works :)

in the case ur able to do a build up post i'll follow it and surely do the same next year
I've always love that kind of lever from polaris
 
I got it together and it turned out perfectly.

I cut a peice of angle steel and drilled some holes in it

Thats awesome! I've always wanted to hook up reverse on my sleds but never wanted to cut into the hood for the lever, thats a great idea!
 
Thanks guys! I love the way it turned out.

Now, the reverse was non Hyvo, so I couldn't use my 23t Hyvo top gear.
I put a 22t non Hyvo in it.
So now I'm at 22/39 gearing.
Stock is 23/38.
How much will this affect clutching?
Should I do something about it?
I have 4.5 grams in both holes of the weights, green secondary spring and a 51/43 helix from an rx1 wrapped at 70 I believe.
I haven't had a chance to take it out for a run on the trails yet so I don't know how it performs with the different gearing.

Nice work! Looks just like mine! Just a note - you might want to put another bracket (positive stop) and a spring on the opposite side of the cable/lever from the chaincase. This will ensure the forks inside the chaincase go to a neutral position and not wear out prematurely. The stock set up, using the shifter, has 2 detent positions to ensure proper engagement and disengagement of the fork.
 
Please keep us upto date on the gearing..i have the exact same scenario..i am just adding reverse as well..and that is the same gearing in the reverse kit that i picked up..curious whether i can leave it..or whether i need to get the correct gearing before i install everything..

your geared quite a bit lower now, the sled will be alot quicker in a short run, it will have a tendancy to spin the track alot easier on snow now so you will need to play with the limiter straps and the rear transfer rods. Top speed will be reduced some but youll gain alot more low-mid range by far.
As for the clutching ,more then likely its going to over rev from the deeper gearing, so with you already having the 4.5 in both holes, youll either need to change the front primary spring to a softer shift rate to bring the rpm back down or change the rear helix to something with a steeper finish angle. The rx1 helix really only ends up around a 42 finish angle which is too shallow for a srx with 8dn20's in my opinion, youd need something more like a 45-46 finish angle. Some good helix angles to look for would be: 52/47,51/45,50/46,54/46

you didnt mention what primary spring you have in the front??, stock is a yellow/white/yellow. 45/128kg
