A couple of bucks - from what I can tell that jet is for a motorcycle carb, and the way its made looks different to our carbs I think. Where the treads are? And the fact that it's from a 95. Apparently only the 96 vmaxs were equipped with the proper q8 jets? But is that all 96 models or just specific ones?
Check out this eBay listing I found. Using the parts diagram for a 1996 vmax I looked up the part number for the nozzle. The number is 8ay-14141-58. Doesn't say if its q8, but EBay listing that couple of bucks posted is part number 3tc-14141-58 and it confirms it's a q8. So because it's just the first 3 characters changing I'm thinking the 8ay is still a q8, and that 3tc is just a different type of q8? Who agrees?

Unfortunately the parts diagram doesn't say how many of these nozzles are required per machine.

Where is that page or site that says what parts go on different machines.
Here is a link to the parts diagram I'm using. So where exactly would those shims for the needle go? Between which numbers on the diagram?

You could always call your dealer and ask if that p/n fits your carbs.
Couple of bucks - here is the link I used that tells me this part is used on motorcycles. On the bottom it says this part is used on 95 yz125. Click on that. Says part used on motorcycles.

I've seen both. No problems either way.And I would like to know what you guys who already have these pipes have used, 1 or 2 q8 nozzles?
Ok. Can anyone provide links to where you can buy the needle shims needed?

Yes that was very helpful! Thanks. So for the gyt pipes what needle position should I use?

More than likely there are enough shims already in there. One of the shims(that is doubled up) just needs to be moved to the next 1/2 position.

Here is a nice shim kit on eBay. It's not exactly 0.4 mm. 0.4 mm in inches is 0.015. The kit comes with .010, .020, and 0.30 shims. So I guess with this kit you can use either a .010 or .020 shim. A bit richer or a bit leaner. Probably won't be able to tell the difference.
