This is the ulitmate Yamaha SX 600 by the way.
Got a pic(upside down)of the engine vin# if it means anything?
Are the stock cylinders "ceramic coated"? The color of these look like the ceramic coated cylinder on my pit bike...

Why do you say that?

If the engine vin matched the tunnel vin, then you'd know the two of them left the factory together. In this case, either the tunnel was changed, or the cases/engine was changed at some point.
The stock cylinders would have been nikasil coated, silver/metallic color.

The factory racers were all blue, no matter the year. Judging from the black bellypan, that is a 97 or 98, probably 98.
I didn't see that this is a twin, and with the black pan, yea, it's either a 97 or 98.

This is a fairly rare sled. Nice find!
Because it is a tricked (but still in the stock category) out factory race sled sx 600. I'll have to look into what place it took in the wsa series back in the day.
The open sleds were more tricked out though.

thats a pretty cool find.............btw- any year chaincase will fit it, from 97-04 all the same on the pro action sleds.
Yea, I actually bought a chaincase from "srx700c" last night. Also, ordered a new drive chain, chaincase oil seals, air cleaner, main/pilot/air jets, reeds, brake pads, and plugs.

In the video I linked, Nathan's sled has a black belly pan?

What year srx was it for? In 99 i belive they went to a different chain/sprocket setup.
I should have been more spesific sorry, blue tunnel and hood on all years, but all out blue from 99.

I think he is riding a pro-open sled in that video, judging from how (fast) it moves. You can actually get the 98-99 snocross video from Memovision still if you contact them. Costs around 40 I think.

"srx700c" is a member on here. I'm not sure what year it's from, he offered to sell it, so I'm guessing he knows it will fit?

Just ordered one from an 04 700 sxviper, Thanks

So cool to see the old sleds in that. And guess what, they can actually turn! Watching helmet cams of snocross now days is almost a joke how horrible they steer. They can litterally BARELY get them turned in corners because of how stiff the suspension and how top-heavy sleds are now (and ski lift). The tracks were more than just ovals back then too!
