More info
Because power-to-weight ratios improve with power enhancement and weight reductions, Apex is an example of the highest tech materials: CF die-cast aluminum Deltabox II frame, titanium exhaust headers, and magnesium valve and chaincase covers. Lightweight hood and aluminum tunnel. Less weight. More power. Greater power-to-weight ratio for terrific on-trail performance.
All-new cockpit makes the rider the center of attention. Taller seat with rear bun and raised handlebars position the rider forward for improved on-trail command. Wide boot-friendly footrests complete the rider-friendly cockpit.
Standard high-torque starter motor means quick, dependable go-power on the coldest mornings. Computerized fuel-injection means no choke. Simply twist the ignition key. Quick. Convenient. Standard.
Four-piston brake caliper and matched, lightweight rotor reduce overall weight while improving both cooling and brake response.
Mono-Shock RA features 46mm aluminum shock body with high-pressure gas damping.
Plastic skis with direct-connect to the wishbone-front suspension are lighter overall and reduce unsprung weight.
A - GENESIS 150FI
Fuel injection controlled by your throttle thumb and Apex's onboard computer. Crisp. Clean. Fuel efficient. Double-overhead cams, 20 valves. And four-stroke advantages of torque, smooth power, durability and now — fuel injection.
B - MONO-SHOCK RA
Dial in your own set-up with this exclusive mono-shock rear suspension's 20 clicks of remote adjustment that fine-tunes your ride for existing trail conditions. This suspension is as easy to tune as 1-2-3.
C - DOUBLE-WISHBONE FRONT SUSPENSION
New geometry provides super-precise handling; zero bump steer means flat cornering and sure-footed control in sweepers and tight, reverse camber turns.

still want pics too!!! damn... i hate this wait every year
Well
Gettin back to my comments on what would be/could be coming, I did not mean to compare the SRX to the RX-1. I was talking "model". SX, SRX, SX-R, all these have a long tradition in Yamaha and the SRX is on top as (i think) the best sled Yamaha ever made for comparable time periods. So, I would want that again, not some behemoth that says 4 stroke, but gets waxed every time to line it up with a comparable sled from XYZ.
Like the news form Canada says, power to weight. We'll see when all the hype settles. Gonna spring check in March 07.

We'll know on Feb 7th, but reading the local Yamaha rep, the Apex is a "rider-forward" (as in Rev-style chassis) 4-stroke with fuel injection and*maybe* a monoshock rear skid.

So, is the racer on the Japanese site close to this Apex design? The picture there seems to be a Vector based racer with Fox float shocks, the Mono-shock and billet rails. I cannot read Japanese, but it seems to be a very light model. It looks like it has a lightweight hood as well as raised seat, along with a bar riser...I do not yet know how to attach the picture...
I just noticed that it also has the same type of running board design as the titanium chassis shown on that Titanium RX-1; a tubular running board design!
