Primary doesn't look too bad.
I have new springs on the wayView attachment 60001View attachment 60002View attachment 60003
is that rust inside where the outer sheave rides on the shaft?

check the statorHmm, kind of a tough one. Carbs are clean and clutches are clean...I would assume while cleaning the clutches you'd have noticed if something was badly worn. Plus it didn't have this problem before.
Stator isn't a bad thought, could be a lot of rust built up around the pick up coil that needs cleaned off after sitting two years. If the stator is weak/going out you may be able to unplug the headlight (hand and grip warmers off too) and see if it responds better with less load. When mine was going out it would bog bad when I hit 6k rpm with the handwarmers on, but ran good with them off.
Blocked exhaust isn't a bad idea to check too, especially with a lot of mice around.

goes really good off idle then a big dead spot around 50-55K or where it quits pulling.
im gonna say it 1 more time, check the stator!!!

What happens if you put the power valves in backwards? I have never heard. It would be easy to do.

It will rev to a little over 8000 then drop off to about 76-7700 rpm when they are upside down. I know that from experience. lolWhat happens if you put the power valves in backwards? I have never heard. It would be easy to do.

Carbs are coming off first before I check the stator. I had very good spark on that cyl but not ruling it out.
Considering what happened, I would like to go with the easy stuff first.

when you have the carbs off, take the reeds out and look at them tooCarbs are coming off first before I check the stator. I had very good spark on that cyl but not ruling it out.

the stator is very simple to test, and takes 5 minutes. just unplug the connectors, and check it with a good multi meter.the sled should be inside at about 70 degrees to get the correct readings.if you dont know how to test it, tell me the year and what sled it is, and ill get the specs for you.id check that first since you allready had the carbs off twice.if you do pull the carbs, then blow a little compressed air into the fuel tank vent line, and see what comes out of the fuel lines from the pump.you could still have some water in the pump.catch the fuel in a container and see if there is any water in there.

If going through the carbs does not solve the issue I will test the stator. I am getting very good spark so I have my doubts. Have not seen or heard of many srx stators going bad. The 97 and 98 twins had bad stator problems. I witnessed 1 get towed off Mt baker 10 years ago.

take yours out to get a really good look at them.they could be cracked, or missing a small piece, or worse.i have a sx 700 in my shop with 5,000 miles that had reed issues.sometimes they are weak, and need to be replaced.if they dont seal up good, then change em,youve got nothing to loose.

just because the spark looks good to the eye, it doesnt mean that the stator is good, the only way to know for sure is to test it with a good multi meter.if its within spec at 70 degrees f,then your good to go, if not, your ignition system will not get the correct voltage, and cause issues like your having.been there, done that.also, rust is a factor, clean the rust off of the raised portions of the flywheel,it can also cause ignition problems like your having.while your at it with the multi meter, check your coils too.at this point, id check the stator, pulse coil, and coils to rule them out.if all three of them test good, then id be looking for a bad wire. the srx is infamous for wires chafing under the engine. If going through the carbs does not solve the issue I will test the stator.
