That's what I should have typed, that I broke it loose, not off. If off, it would have had to be replaced.
I think I'll just take my chances with this one.

Just one more thing that was mentioned earlier. If you do this be careful to not grab the fuel sender pickup wire when fishing out the filter or running the new hose. I was fine the first time but when I pulled the filter to put the proper Yamaha fuel line in the tank I caught the sender float. I didn't think I caused any problems but when I fired up the sled tonight the warning light was flashing and the fuel level flashing like it was out of gas. The float was floating.
I looked and the wire was bent to the left side. I just bent it back straight with a screwdriver and it works fine again. Thank goodness. I tested it too and the level adjusted on the gauge as I held the float down. It takes a few seconds to adjust though which is normal so the gauge isn't bouncing all over as you are riding.
