I posted a thread regarding a very unfortunate incident that happened to a friend of mine who died when he rode his Yamaha Viper into open water in the dark last weekend.

He leaves a loving wife and 4 young children ages 1 to 6 years of age who now need all the help and prayers they can get to help overcome their loss...
I called Ben's wife tonight to let her know that there are caring people on this Yamaha website praying for her and her family. She was deeply moved by the fact there are people praying for her and her kids who she doesn't even know. I explained to her that I don't know anyone either, but TY is truly like a family on it's own and consists of people who care.....not just about sleds.
I was asked to post a Trust fund by a fellow TY'er and with the blessing of Ben's wife here it is:

Cheques payable to:

Trust for Bjorkman Family

Send donations to:

Scotia Bank
Dowling Branch
Dowling Plaza
Box 99
Dowling, Ontario
Canada
P0M 1W0

I hope we all can make a donation no matter how small...it's the thought that counts. I will let everyone know how she makes out..

Someone should set up a paypal account for them, it would be alot easier to paypal a donation. I have seen banks do it in the past. Maybe get a ty account set up by Tom, and make one big TY donation. I know Tom is very busy already, but this is a good cause. Maxdlx

Paypal works for me but I'm in no matter what. My wife could have been in this exact situation last year. You never know when its your time. ===SRXSRULE===

I'm in no matter what too, my 4 kids was the first thing I thought about in muni this year. I know what it takes to raise 4 kids, its not easy with 2 people working. it would be great to see a big showing from the TY family. Knowing a large group of people cares can make a big difference. Think about it guys, 2500 members, give 5 bucks a child or 20 bucks total, these 4 kids go to college. if you have been on Ty for any amount of time, you know if it was your wife and kids the support would be there from this site. Lets make a difference Maxdlx

definately.... ty should support... did they get a paypal account set up? im am definately in.... i know the loss on both sides of the fence with my job and all, any help from us as a group or individuals would be greatly appreciated, just think, that could be any of us at anytime....

i know i would count on people here to help my wife if it were me...

I'm in as well. Lets make a decision, One big TY donation or each of us sending a check. I would prefer one TY donation if it can be set up rather soon.

Mr. Sled, is this something that can be done?

Thanks,
Tom

I am in, I think an overall TY statement would be great.

Thanks - Mike

I sent $50 today.... I know money can not help ease the pain, but the support, love, and prayers from total strangers can make someone's day a little better and future a little brighter....

I think it would be great to have a place just for these type deals. I would rather paypal than send a check Maxdlx

Paypal....first of all I don't know much about it. Is there anything that I would need to do?? Do I need to speak to the bank about Paypal?? Sorry guys for being out to lunch on this, I just don't know how it works. Yes Tom, set it up if you can...it would be more than greatly appreciated. Let me know what needs to be done on my end regarding the set up.

Peter

Thanks Mr. Sled! I think this can go on for a couple of weeks if that is okay. There is a benefit concert at the town hall on April 2nd to raise some funds for the family so maybe we can shut it down somewhere in the first week of April. That should be enough time. Again, I will keep everyone posted on how the family is doing. She has gone with the kids to her parents for the week out of town and will return after Easter.

everyone here should stop and take a minute to look at everyone around them, wether at home, on the trail, or here in the site, and count our blessings and we all should be proud to help this family out in their time of need....

not only does yamaha make the finest sleds around, yamaha sleds are ridden by the finest people around....

MrSled ws good enough to post this on the Four Stroke Forum as well that makes about 5000 of the finest people around. ;)! All i gotta do now is figure out how to set up a paypal account! Great idea guys  :rocks:
