Right now stock the gears are top= 22 and bottom=39

if i went to a top=20 bottom=42

would i need a dif. chain or a new chain case?????

Same chain, same gear case. The problem you will have though is that with the wider lower gear and the smaller top, you won't have many teeth in the chain on the top gear. If you have good traction, the top gear could fail if the track didn't spin some. Not likely, but could.

that is what a hi-tech performance reccommened and the guy that i bout the clutch from said the same

I run 20/42 with 9 tooth drivers in my mountain sled. I have never heard of a 20 or 19 tooth gear failing but I have heard of 18's breaking. The 70 link chain will work with 20/42.

what are you running for a track and studs? That is VERY low gearing for just general trail riding, you will probably find a nice overrev on top end with gearing that low in most conditions, and if you don't have good traction it will dig a trench to china on holeshots.

i went to a 21/40, and its aggressive enough for my taste...ripsaw and transfer rods cant hardly handle it...

exactly, that is MUCH closer to what i believe they should be run at, even 22/40.

AAEN's triple pipes, the clutch spring and weights, i also have the E.R. kit for the Secondary from Hi tech performance as well as there speed ring for the primary :WayCool: :yrules: :yrules:
