PowerInc Pipes for SRX

I'd love to see the dyno numbers for these pipes vs. the stock pipes. A few extra hp is always nice. Should look nice ceramic coated. Definately keep us posted.

Ceramic coating helps in 2 ways. It helps keep the heat in the pipe, and it helps keep the heat in the pipe. LOL The first helps the pipes work better because they heat in faster, and stay at operating temp. the second is it keeps the heat in the pipe, not under the hood. It will lower under hood temps, not alot, but enought to make a difference. Maxdlx

i don't believe the coating is a gain you can "feel". your motor can, yes. like maxdlx said, it gets the engine up to running temp sooner and it helps to keep under the hood cooler. won't melt the hood when pipes are close, but like he said its not going to drop the temp under there by 20* by no means.

No difference in feel. DO NOT and I mean DO NOT touch coated pipes with your fingers to see if they are cooler, use a temp gun. Don't ask either. Maxdlx

lol, good advice max, my brother did a smart thing last winter. After he was doing alot of lake racing, he noticed a plug went bad. Not really think (we are talking about a college student here at Purdue) he not only touches really quickly, but rather holds his hand on the pipe to see which one is cold. lol He had a big burn.

lol! thanks for the advice maxdlx, I have a few learning experiences like that myself :) only takes once!

The ones I am getting are used, this company is out of business and these pipes are pretty hard to find. However, once we get these, we will be able to make exact replicas of these pipes if some were interested.

why not replicate the stock pipes with lighter material?

would aluminum survive if coated?

Replica Pipes!

Wow; if you can duplicate the weight loss without the top end loss associated with the aftermarket pipes; you have me searchin my couch cushions right now for extra pennies :)

CBPerformance Rocks!

lol, front end is already on the SRX! looks great and we are trying to rush customers stuff right now so we can get to our belt drive and rear suspension parts. I will be going down tomorrow and working on your sleds and the other SRX that got dropped off a little before you got there. Center cylinder really got fried. I will let you know if we can replicated them once we recieve the pipes.

Searching threw some photos tonight and found these. This number is pretty accurate for weight savings as I forgot to include the exhaust donuts for the stock pipes so add .25 pounds to the weight of the stock pipes with everything. It comes out to a 18 pound savings exactly. Here is the proof.

for that to be a fair weight savings comparison, you will need to remove the shields and use stingers.

i looked into the pi pipes long ago and they work, kinda. like most pipes they only really work if you can keep them hot. to really keep a pipe hot, you need to wrap them or stop all the air from blowing over them. coating helps but is in no way as good as wraping pipes. i had talked to a guy that had dynoed the pipes against the stockers on the same day and when they are cold or mildly warm they make couple less hp, when they are hot, really hot, they made 8hp over the stock pipes. like he reminded me, it is really easy to get a pipe really hot on a dyno, there is no 100mph of cold air blowing over them through all the vents. with srx pipes, the temp they are hot on the dyno is very similar to the real world temp. so after my conversation, he said, yes they are a great pipe, have them coated so they wont rust, then wrap them so the air wont cool them off.

if your just in it to make the sled look cool, remove the stock covers, install a can and crome the stockers. the pipes look better than the pi pipes with the covers off. the srx pipes are stamped, not hydroformed.

I am not following what you are saying here. how is this not a fair weight comparison? If I take off what I was using originally and put every piece on the scale, then put every piece I need for these pipes on the scale. Please explain Scott, little confused in your wording. Thanks
