wow, look at that nasty booger picker, and you put that thing up there. JK, there notsofasttoys. Look around for some good parts, at a fair price. besides what else you gonna do this summer, GET MARRIED.

what do you do on a deal like that? Do you need a different crank, or is there some way to take the crank apart? I was wondering about this before when I rebuilt mine, and also if you would have a bad rod or something do you have to replace the crank?

well there are couple diff ways that i know of one is to send the crank in and they press the crank apart and install new bearings. heard that from allen ulmer. another way that ive heard about is purchasing a rebuild crank from diff rebuild places. they run about 350.00 i think for the whole crank. but at this point i think im still going to rebuild the motor.

Woofer 700 cant say any marriage plans in the works. i have my family moving out this way remember. oh yeah make sure you brush up on your tiling skills!!!!! have to put some in the basement

dropped the crank off today. just gonna rebuild the damn thing and go from there. prolly take couple weeks to get everything organized to rebuild

Just read thru all the posts on your thread - so is it your opinion that a bad crank bearing caused the meltdown?

yes the bearing barely turns on the crank. the only thing i dont understand how or why the piston melted like that

and to think the same thing happened to my 79, the piston, crank, bearing.
Hey Srxspec, you should see fasttoys work on his sleds, the guy has 10 thumbs, but give him an Audi, and the thing will be done in no time.

So I'm not the only freak that will just tear into four or more other projects - "while the motor was out" - LOL.

Looking good!
