THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY GAS FOR ONE DAY', BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? < B>We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace…not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all! (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am, so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Keep it going.

I know this is kind of retarded and I usually don't ever forward emails, or post them anywhere but I thought I'd share this one. It'd be nice if it worked... :o|

Yeah I'm sure you're right. It's just wishful thinking on my part.

I doubt it would work too,:(, It is supply and demand. PERIOD, we and
other country's need to use less.

Gas IS NOT going to go down.... its only going to go UP AND UP AND UP.... I have been AROUND THE WORLD (a few times) and let me tell you guys something...THE UNITED STATES has the CHEAPEST gas prices in the WORLD!!!.. let me tell you something about Saudi Arabia.. if they see gas selling for $7.00 a gallon in GERMANY,,, why don't you think they could get $7.00 a gallon in AMERICA?????? THEY KNOW THEY CAN get it from us!!!!!! BP and EXXON MOBIL are the BIG 2 here in Chicagoland.... Do you think they are stupid?????? if you dont buy from BP or mobil where do you think the fuel comes from???? ALL THE OTHER gas stations buy from BP or EXXON MOBIL..... Do you think they are going to TRUCK 12,000 gallons of gasoline 300 miles at $4.00 a gallon for diesel fuel.. With a truck that gets 3 MPG???? DO THE MATH.... plus paying the driver UNION SCALE here in chicagoland???????? EVERYBODY in CHICAGOLAND buys from EXXONMOBIL or BP... THATS IT!!!! 2 REFINERIES!!!!! 40 different brands and 2 refineries...... CITGO isn't even in contention anymore... (yes, they have a little refinery in LOCPORT))) but they do about 1/2 of 1 percent of the business in chicagoland!!!! You guys need to WISE UP and QUIT YOUR BITCHIN!!!!

dont you understand that the govt gets money from MFT (motor fuel taxes) and it supports the infrastructure?????? They get 10% of $3.00 is 30 cents...if they get 10% of $4.00 they get a 25% increase in just 1 year.. INFLATION you say?????? NO,,, The GOVT doing what they know how to do best!!! MAKE MONEy for their cronies!!!!!

I am just going to wal to work from now on might have to leave about3 hours before I start but it will be cheaper. Spend 120 bucks to fill my beast.....

in Germany,, they have a car called smart... It weighs around 1500lbs and is half the size of a normal car.. 50mpg I think!!!

daman,a moped wouldn't work for me unless I pull a trailer behind it for all my tools and counter tops.Gas here is now $5.17 our gallon for regular. You guys are still cheap there...don't bitch.Prices will still climb and most likely be around $7.00 a gallon here by the end of May.Put that in your pipe and smoke it...lol.Your fuel costs will have no choice but to climb and people have to live with it.I feel sorry for the younger generation ,like my 2 girls. The hard time they are having making ends meet. They'll probably never ever own their own home in their life either. When I was their age,gas was not an issue.I was only making like $2.61/hr and had lots of money for gas for my car.Pop and chocolate bars were like $.05.Them days are gone.I am afraid about when I go into retirement if I'll have enough money to survive.I drive a 1996 Ford XLT and that is good for me.I am not one to go buy a new truck just because it has everything in it and nice and shiny.Don't care about vehicles at all, will drive older ones,as long as it takes me from pont A to B.All these young guys out there are buying these nice new cars and trucks, pay big insurance and still have to pay high gas prices.I am way further ahead on my truck.Everything I have is paid off, have a good amount of cash saved up in the bank, mortgage will be paid off by end of May.I will cut my hours back at work and enjoy life a little more,as long as I have money for my small bills and can save a little on the side..I will not kill myself working for anyone and watch them get rich. They can find other dummies to do that for them.
I will be watching where I drive from now now, don't drive long distances anyways, just locally. Will cut back driving if I have to.My 6 cents worth.lol

I wander who is going to buy all them 5th wheel trailers and motorhomes.Guess there are rich people that can afford them. One placed opened up down the hiway from me 2 years ago..filled with trailers and motorhomes.Didn't last to long, closed up.Brand new buildings too, someone else bought it and turned it into a used vehicle lot and auction house. Also they do detailing and the such.Don't know if they will last long either. They should of opened up a Yamaha dealership out there instead and put some Yamaha's in my area.Just endless amount of doo's and cat's out this way.I should of opened up a Yamaha shop out here and daman you could move here and work with me.

I did what i could.I bought a motorcycle that i get 46 mpg and i no longer tow my travel trailer all over the place since i got a season site.As dorky as they look, some of those mopeds go pretty fast and get big mpg.

I just picked up a bike last week. Not going to make a lot ofsurplus, but I hope it helps. I also drive 2 miles to work now where I use to drive 46. Yes, I like the short drive! :)

I still have my 85 Yamaha Maxium 700,but don't ride it anymore.Have no time to ride it and find driving in trafic now a days very dangerous with all the crazy drivers out there.Probably will sell it as is.Needs a new front tire. Some young guy will probably pick it up.Insurances rates on bikes here are right thru the roof.Guys on Harley's are paying some $3000 a year for insurance. My old bike with complete coverage I believe would be around $1000-1200.Probably more now. Can't win.You buy a bike to save on gas,but they nail you on the insurance. It goes up every year to.

The only way that I can see gas price drop is if the economy gets going again and inflation drops....right now people are buying commodities and it is driving gas prices up even beyond the supply and demand price.....But even if that happens, once companies see that people will pay that price here, it is going to stay high forever!! The only thing I can say is hold on to your paid off sleds and spend the money on gas not on payments!!!!!!!
