costs me about $125 to fill up my truck now.By our May long weekend,it is said gas will jump to $1.50 to $1.60 a litre for regular. At this rate to fill up the SRX with 10 gallons premium would be aprox. $80.00. Can I say SLED sales will be on the decline...yup.Will be only able to ride the SRX an hour per day on the weekends at this rate. I may be riding my 76 Artic Cat Pantera 5000 this winter,at least I could drive all day with that sled..lol. It is not funny anymore. People are going to have to buckle down once everything you purchase is going to sky rocket. Our wages don't climb as fast.So in the long run we are all going to feel the pinch.
I was talking to norwegian in Norway.Right now the gas there converted in Canadian dollars would cost me $10.00/gallon.How are people managing,I have no idea.
The manufactures of sleds better start offering sleds at lower prices soon,or some of them will drop out of site.Me..well I am just stocking up parts for both my sleds to keep them on the snow for the next 10 years. After that I don't think I will be into sledding anymore.

its time to start driving our gasoline powered auotomombiles on vaporized fuel, that knowledge has been around for years. i.ve had imfo on that gave it away to others to build and never heard about any more.at that time fuel was only 1.50 a gallon so was,ent important . how ever have a local guy that works in our town at 7 eleven , he was involved at university studys on making autos run on vaporized fuel and the test results had been making close to 100 miles to the gallon.so i have some ideas for that and talked to this guy about that and he said sure come over and we can build some thing that will work and start making for people to install .

Regular gas was $3.69 at my local Chevron when I looked yesterday.
How is everybody else doing with prices during this economic slump?

I heard on a radio talk show today that the American Oil Companies like made a profit of $123 billion last year.Go figure. Here in Canada we are taxed heavy by our great Government, like a 25-30 % in taxes on the fuel.Actually a tax on top of a tax.Guess they think we wouldn't notice that. There is a call for them to perhaps drop the taxes on fuel till the end of 08 and are gas would be priced roughly the same as in the US.This is to help ordinary people who are struggling and would help boost the economy. But I doubt the Government will let go of that tax money that line their pockets that they are so used to.Again they are not working for the people, but working to keep themselves wealthy.Ain't it the truth. The GREED FACTOR exists here.

I am riding the bike pretty much as much as I can, the wife is about to start doing the same. the civic takes premium and gets like 33 mpg, the bikes takes whatever I want it to, and gets 50+ mpg and the wifes gets nearly 70 mpg $3.70 for premium around here

For premium out here it would be about $2.30 more a gallon approx.Haven't bought any for a while.Just use regular in the truck, which is a few cents cheaper at $5.71 a gallon. Our gallon is a little bigger then the US gallon. It's like 1.2 to 1. You need 1.2 Us gallons to equal 1 Can. gallon. That would make you around the $4.45/gallon premium same volume. You are still cheaper then us by over $1.50/gallon for premium. I think I got my math right.

I leaving the country very very shortly. I will be back in time for the first muni ride in 2009.
I cant imagine how much money I am going to save in 8 months of not buying any gasoline..

snocrosser said:I'm 24yrs old and I worry about things will be like when I'm 50? I have a great pension going with USG corporation so they tell me, you can retire when your 48 they tell us at work. Do I believe this? No! Will I get Social Security when I'm 60? Probably not. I've managed to build myself a small house to live in, so thats a plus. All we can do is keep plugging away. These days you don't know what to believe anymore. The whole global warming issue, I think is a crock, look at the winter we had this year in Michigan, seemed pretty normal to me. Gas prices are another thing, I drive truck for a living. Our trucks get 6.5 mpg "C-12 Cat" and people bitch when you drop a load of drywall for them and they get a $150.00 fuel surcharge. But we have to make our money to and cover our own costs. So we all feel the pain in some sort of way and all we can really do is be smarter than the fuel companies, conserve the fuel we use and ride out the storm. Hows that saying go "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer" ain't that the truth these days!
So let me get this straight....you think because we had a cold winter that global warming is a crock? I'm sorry but that makes no sense whatsoever. And all the doubters of global warming should really start to wake up pretty soon. It is not SPECULATION anymore people, it is reality. Isn't very tough to make accurate temperature measurements and average them. Global temps are rising the fastest that they ever have in history. CO2 levels in the atmosphere are the highest they have been in 30 MILLION YEARS. How do they know all this? Ice core samples. By measuring the content of the different gases trapped in the ice it is fairly easy to determine the levels of gases that were in the atmosphere thousands of years ago. And just to put this to rest in a real hurry: one season does virtually NOTHING for swaying averages. ESPECIALLY if that one cold season is in a fairly isolated region. You think the whole world was colder this winter? We live in the midwest, so that is what we see. You can't make inferences on the whole world by watching the climatic patterns in one region. Global temperatures are rising. CO2 is the highest it has ever been since man have been on this earth and still rising. (Right now we are at around 3 times the CO2 levels in the atmosphere we were at 250 years ago) Petroleum is made from two basic things: carbon and hydrogen. When ANY petroleum is combusted, what are the products of a stoichiometric burn? CO2 and water. So why would it not make sense that almost 1/2 of the world's petroleum reserves are depleted and the CO2 levels are higher than ever? Not to mention that the world's forests are being cut at a rate of the size of one soccer field EVERY OTHER SECOND. So what is absorbing all that new CO2 being introduced into the atmosphere? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is real people.

Did you guys happen to catch on the history channel about what happens to the world after all the humans are killed via atonic bombs.A lot of animals survive, they skin is thicker and body doesn't absorb as much radiation as the humans. Was a cool show in the way they presented it and the facts. They start with what happens after 5 years,10 years,20,50 100,200 qnd 300 years. The animals of the world take over and prey on each other.Moss and grasses grow on roadways that once were asfalt.Houses start to collapse, nature takes them over.hi rise buildings start to decay ,concrete starts to crack and peel, steel beams rust outward ,moisture sets in and concrete pieces start breaking off.Whales multiply again because there are no more ships distressing their mating signals, cod fish grow to 3 times their size.It took 120 years after mankind was on earth and polluting, for the earth to reclaim itself from all the damage man made for the past 10,000 years.Iffel Towel collapses after about 160 years and the Statue of Liberty took the longest time to start breaking down because of the copper in it,but took some 200 plus years. After 300 years all the satellites start to fail and come crashing to earth and some pieces create fires where they crashed. Can't say it all,but the show was well done with pictures along the way throughout the show.A lot of computer animation and looked so real.Makes you wander.Imagine it took the earth 120 years to get clean again after all the pollution in the atmosphere made by humans. The only thing that wouldn't detritus the most was plastic items, but it shows how the earth had it's way of growing around and over that stuff.Very interesting show..makes you think a lot about this world we live in and what is in store for it.
Look at the Polar Ice Caps and ice braking away the size of Manhattan and braking into 2 pieces and making it's journey southward. They now showed how more ice is cracking like 180 meters wide by 36 miles long.Another big chunk will release itself.Man it is not like it was 80 degrees F. and this all happened. It is just from 1-3 degree change in temps and this stuff is happening. The earth has been pushed to it's limit and is fighting back us humans. There are more disasters to..earthquakes,tornadoes,hurricans,floods,fires,drought in some area and monsoons in others.Something is causing this change and thanks to the humans for helping out.I can't see how all this talk about cutting back emissions, greenhouse gases, carbon monoxide, will change anything now.Kind of late don't you think. You would have to take every gas operated device and stop using the,but still it couldn't reverse like in 5 years. The damage has been down.It would take a thousand years at least to reverse some of it,but as long as we humans live on the earth,,the damage is evident. There is no way this earth is going to go on to another thousand years and people will life the good life again. The next 5 years on earth is going to be very crucial. As long as China and India keep sucking up the resources and pollute big time, the rest of the world couldn't do things fast enough to reverse it.The Mega Powers win in the short run,but lose in the long one as the rest of us will to.My 2cents.

I know..I know.I type to much..but must keep my fingers well exercised because of the arthritis in my joints. And I can stay up late because there is no work for me tommorrow.Slowing down at work.Seems like people are starting to cut back on spending and saving for more important things. That will put 8 installers in a tough situation. Some may leave to find other work.I may look around for some other things, but like working for the company.
On the way home today ..heard on the radio that we better get used to be paying the $2.00 a litre price for gas in 2009. .That should cost me around $96 to fill up the SRX with premium.Not..sled will be parked.Maybe will take it out for a cpuple of runs and that will be it.Can I say sled sales will drop here for the dealers...yup!!!!!

It seems like everything in our economy for sale on the market no matter what it is, is based off the price of oil..
To take a reverse look at it, I bet the car dealers cant even give away a new 4WD truck SUV or new diesel.

well it seems everything is made from oil.Plastics, clothing, fertilizers, house products..etc in one form or another. We are doomed man. There is a bigger picture that a lot are not seeing here, a perfect time to set the wheels in motion for something you would not expect to happen. This could be the beginning of what the bible states is the Mark of the Beast.Stay tuned,it is coming to you, your town, your city, your state or Province, your Country.Mass population control and your lives are at stake. If you join the beast, you are worse off then if you die to not accept it.It is already written I'm afraid.
