you dont have to replace them all.unless they look liek there about to pull through.but i would deffinitly inspect the good & the take quite a bit of time to clean.they will be prolly carboned up.so whoever told you they were done a month ago before you bought it was ovioulsy full of shit.

= / i got my mech to do em... and when i walked in to ask him a few questions i saw them soaking in a container in my sled... i dont think the guy i bought the sled off of ever cleaned em though.. but mech said it wasnt too bad.. the sled been runing on ams interceptor oil since the 1st buyer... got 10,700 or so km's on the sled without having any problems... i guess i bought it right when the bad things start to happen...

so all in all... he did one hell of a shity job on em... they where cleaned cause i saw em soakin in a resolution but im taking it he didnt even inspect the wires for any weak points... ug im done with bringing my sled there! he is good with atv's but with sleds hes has not been the geatests!
Cant wait to get our damn garage built so i can have room to work on my own things... the pv's dont look to too bad to change by urself! i just dont got the room in our home garage to do it! the soab is packed!
so i guess a pull through valve just dont happen just like that off a wire? it takes a while to wear through???

Oh yeah it does take a while to wear through. I have 9000 on mine, they are in MINT shape! No pull through at all. Keep them clean and adjusted correctly and you'll be ok.

Open the servo motor cover, and watch it as you lower the RPM. You'll see it move
Mopar1Rules also does them.

I would be asking your mechanic if he adjusted them. Sounds like he set it too tight, which will result in a pull through.
ALSO, you took weight out of your arms in the primary to adjust for the PV problem, so now you will have to add the weight back. The pulled PV was causing the lower rpm...

Hey guys... i pulled out the vavle.. it wasnt a pulled through valve... the cord broke off about 1inch from the valve though i still need to check the others... so when i buy a new cord what comes with the cord??

it shouldnt have broke unless it was stuck in there.maybe from the previous owner & your mech.didnt notice the broken cable.the only thing you will get with the cable is the cable.you may be able to find one on here.

yea.. well he did aline them so i guess he did put them to tight!
yea i was thinking about that ill have to reset my clutch wieghts... well im gona see what hes gona do about that kinda his fault that the pull through happend.... Im comfterbal enough to do my own PV's now that ive done them once with my father... Once i saw him did it following the lists u guys gave me to follow, i understand much better..
It def shouldnt of been stuck in there! they where just cleaned not long ago!... do u need to clean the insde of where the valve leads into also? if so with what? dont want to get crap going into the engine

They where just cleaned not long ago when i bought it the first thing i did was bring it to the mech for a complete tune up
when i took it out it was pretty dirty... it didnt slide out smoothly needed to wigle n pull slightly. so either it got stuck or the cable was too tight...

I was thinking on going to soak em in deisel.. think that would do the trick? do i take the whole valves apart to clean or just soak em with the casing on?
cause when i went to see my mech.. he was soaking them with the casing on them
i know theres a thread about this about cleaning...ill go hit it up but just curious about diesel.. trying to see if any house hold products could get er done

I took them off the cable and sprayed them with aircraft paint remover from Advance auto. Someone here suggested that and it worked very well. Stunk pretty bad but most came very clean with a scrubby and touched up with some degreaser.
Clean the passages where you pulled the valves from the head with degreaser on a rag. Wipe the crud back towards you with a pencil and rag, and not into the cylinder. None of mine was crusted and wiped out easy.
Merry Christmas to all, or Happy Holidays if that's your bag!

Yes, like mysx700r said, use some sort of cleaning solution and a scotchbrite pad. Little easier if you let them soak. I don't soak mine, just spray with carb cleaner and a ton of scrubbing with scotchbrite pad. I've never looked for one but always thought some sort of nylon wheel bit (instead of a wire wheel) that would go into a drill motor would work really slick. Sounds like your mechanic just soaked them and put back in without scrubbing them. He may have adjusted them correctly, but since valves weren't all the way clean one got stuck and broke cable. Lucky (so to speak!) that the cable broke where it did instead of the back of the valve. Clean the ports like mysx700r said, rag wrapped around a pencil eraser and pull back towards you.
