Snowmobilers Kill Deer in Wisc

Press conference update coming from authorities this afternoon. Maybe they got them!
I think they should shove them all down the hole in the ice where the other idiot killed all the ducks.

Unbelievable. those are definitely some sick individuals. I love hunting deer but not with my sled!

i have been reading this right along..on a few forums actually..i just dont know what to say.im speechless.im sure they will get whats coming to them..but im not so sure i would be able to except the award..after all dont we all have enough problems with local clubs being broke?( so we thought) not sure how they could afford to give out that kinda loot...but besides that im not sure if i could because turning them in is the right thing to do anyways..these are sick people & deserve the same punishment they gave.(about 192 ice picks arcoss there face)..if i took the money i would give them half back & donate the rest to the local club here...thats my 2cents. :ban:

bully, the donated $$ is from all sorts of organizations, and people. I am sure many donations were confidentially given.

I know $500 of it when there was under 4k in the bounty was from a local ANIMAL SHELTER!!!! If a humane society puts up any $$ it is a big deal. I would seriously hope that all the donated $$ gets donated right back to a humane soceity or similar organization.

I will be watching for the press conference. Hopefully they caught them.

ohhh.i was thoguht it was from the trail club.hoping to get the trails opened back up.icic..still should go back to some good cause.

I heard these people were from Minnesota. JK

In all seriousness, this could happen anywhere. It really is a shame it happend here though. We have already had like 9 people die while sledding this year. Us sledders don't need any more bad press.

I get PO'd at our few year old new night time 50mph speed limit on the trails. Stuff like this happening only will want more rules and regulations to be made. The reason I enjoy sledding is that there are very few special rules for sledders. Basically, don't drink and ride, don't speed through towns that have a limit (even night time limits), and keep on the right side of the trail, and stop for traffic/ stop signs. After that, it's all common sense.

Apparently common sense is not so common anymore. :o|

You're absolutely right. It could happen anywhere & I've said for years that common sense isn't common any more! I don't know why a one or two, or few idiots think they can go and ruin it for the rest of us!

I can't help but think this is also a excellent opportunity for the snowmobile community to show everybody else, that people that do this sorta stuff are in the very small minority. You know, donating to a reward fund, maybe even being the ones turning in someone like this, or maybe even giving the reward money back. That's what I would do anyways.

Stay tuned, I think they may have caught them. Press conference from Sherriff at 3:00 PM Central.

I changed the thread title, didn't change on the lounge page, maybe the MODs can fix it for me.

They already got the guy that killed the ducks.

A 50 mph speed limit at night is fine with me. You can quickly go beyond your headlights at this speed. I wonder how many snowmobile accidents and deaths were at night opposed to during the day. I hate trail hogs. I was half in the deep stuff and jack *** coming up on me ridin in the middle of the trail. I wanted to close line him off of his sled. I am surprised at the number of people who don't use signals either. Hopefully there is some fingerprints from the pieces found in the area.

where would i find it on tv?

I hope they get them, this makes me sick. I live near Minneapolis but alot of us travel to WI to ride their great trail system. This kind of nonsense hurts all of us.

I hate trail hogs as well, but many trails by us 50 mph at night is too slow. I can't overdrive the headlight on any of my sleds at 50mph on the straight trails. Now the twisty ones I average 35mph through, and that is moving. But at night you can see a sled coming from a LONG ways away. I contend it tis safer at night to ride. Less peole on the trails, and you can see the headlights of oncoming sleds very easily. Yes, on blind corners, you HAVE to hug your side, or even get off the edge of the trail to allow room to the hogs...

I have been nearly clipped by several riders beyond their control over the past 25 years of my sledding career, due to them being on my side. But this has never turned into a collision due to me being very careful around blind corners. Of course, there is a time and a place for hauling......

I just want to take a minute to commend and thank the landowner for the way in which she handled this whole ordeal. If anyone knows a place where we could write her a thank you note, please post the info. I hope the club does something special for her.
