Went to tug hill for the first time riding was awesome but I got a speeding ticket there are zero signs up and who would of thought there was a damn speed limit on a sled f-them i am never coming back and the 12 guys with me arent ether guess ny state just lost 1200.00 in reg next year we will rid in pa where the cop arent jackasses and the town justice are fair i might as well take the two cylinders off the viper it'll do 55 without three!!!
This is no offense to you so please dont take it the wrong way, but there are tons of idiots out there who think they own the trail. They will go full throttle past a family that is just out for a normal cruise and never let up. It ruins the sport for some. If people would just show some respect to other riders and land owners then we would never have to have rangers/cops on the trail at all.
Sorry to hear you got a ticket though, that ruins the sport too

No offense taken, but i hate to say every ten miles theres is a bar and if you dont get a drink they look at you weild you think a drunk can handle a sled better at 55 then me they need to have no tolerance policy for drinking and leave the rest of us alone they can fine them bastards
is sure is a joke. Here in ontario the speed limit is....get this...50KM's per hour!!!!!! I am so scared of getting caught but I won't let it ruin my riding. There is one spot I can see the distance and I know the trails I hit 150km's the other night. No big deal on a fast sled but WOW if they ever caught me that's against drivers license! Such a joke.

yeah, i hear you and some poor guy just like you every year wrong place at the wrong time ,but just like the previous post stated about the yahoos blasting by some families and now they report that and here comes the cops, ny has a law that states 55 mph, how fast were you going? some trails are 25mph and are posted..the sleds are barely engaged and cruising at that speed. hope you come back up to tug hill or the surrounding area...CP
just curious, how did they grab you? what kind of sleds they got down there.

here in canada ontario, speed limite is 50 Km/h sucks realy slow... i ride the trails at about.. hummm.. 100-150 km/h haha... and i know most of the cops in town and they dont mind anyone driving 100 or so but there is always to that certain extent.
i myself never have gotten any tickets on the trail, but in a vehicule i pay 600$ a month in insurance to be able to drive my vehicul. sucks. i know all about speeding tickets, good luck.

Sucks you got a ticket, it makes for a ruined trip. In Wisconsin we have a Night Time speed limit of 55mph.
In my area they actually set up on a long open stretch to see if you will be tempted to speed. (speed trap) They also strictly enforce Loud pipes / Modified exhaust.

Here in mn its 50mph and I have been really close to being nail in a speed trap just like described above 5 miles straight trail I was doing 60-65 and got pulled over with friends and got hassled for 45 min!!!! That was the worst part. But never got a ticket!!!!! I also have to say that I have almost been clipped by crazy *** riders too. There has to be a line but where is it!!! The lakes around here are 50mph. So testing out the clutch is dangerous.
Sorry to here about the ticket!!!!
