Trying t0 figure out compression numnbers here???

well as I have the carbs apart here in the basement..notice the float hieght is 20 mm.That is not to spec.Spec is 11.3 to 15.3. So what is 20mm doing to the motor then.UI will have to adjust. You measure from the carbbowl base to the highest part of the float..right..then I come up with 20mm.....hmmmmm

ok will do.What about the floats.Any one have some kind of diaghram exactly how to measure them floats or hieght.Specs are 11.3 to 15 .3..which is better..15.3 ish mm.

Your reeds are chipped above the seal. Just file them down to remove the chips. If they still seal they are fine.

They look toast to me, My dirtbike had reeds that were showing a gap/ light without the chips and it was causing a little bit of studdering at top rpm. New reeds felt like a new motor lol

they are staying in for now..got to ride this weekend...Them chipsa aren't major..still seals and the rees have a natural curve anyways..so they will be slightly letting light in

some reeds were really not seating well. All I could do for now is flip a few of them around to get a little better seal fror now.A little less light coming thru.Tried the yami dealer here..they are uselness..never have any parts in stock. So everything is going back together today.

well I lied..didn't do a damn thing today. Sled is all in pieces and didnt care at all...lol.SOME DAYS JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING A THING.Was on the puter all day just viewing and reading stuff!!!!BORING day to say the least..a little snowblowing the drive and that is it....lol
Think I'll sleep in tomorrow also..see how it goes...... :o| :o| #$%&*

hey blue i think i'm cured now lollll .... but winter is almost over grrrrrrrrrrrr

hey pascal..lots of snow and winter left here yet.It was -36 windchill this morning and another cold night coming.By the weekend -5 to -6 temps..great for riding and lots of good snow on the River system for sure.Got to make up for lost time.Wish you could be here to ride.!!!

Tomorrow I have to put reedvalves back on,install the carbs, pull out PV's and check them and then have them adjusted again to make sure..and pull chaincase cover off, remove 70 link chain and replace with the 68link(right size this time). Then once that is done..go back to skid and tighen track up a tad and loosen straps. Then maybe pull the clutches and set up properly again..try a new belt and hopefully "HANG ON FOR LIFE TO THE HANDLEBARS" feeling will be back and I can hit 120 mph on the SRX..lolllllll
Always good to dream right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xing my fingers.. :o|

Did you get a chance to try out your 8Bu-00 weights Blue

motor ain't pulling on top right now, them 8BU's sucked big time..wot only 8000rpm.With 8dn-2's same issues.Motor won't pull the numbers this year, sled is all apart as I type.Going thru things and see if anything changes.

MONSTER, I GO BACK TO COMPRESSION IF I WERE YOU. JUST BECAUSE GAUGAGE READ OK, YOU PROBLEY HAVE SOME BLOW BY ISSUES GOING ON. YOU MAKE ALOT OF LONG PULLS WITH THAT SLED. YOUR SRX IS SHOWING PERFECT SYNTOMS OF NEEDING A RING JOB. 3:16 (yammie tony)

well I would say the reeds are not sealing very good also.Compression #'s seem ok.Don't really see any blowby thru the ports, pistons look clean and nothing chipped.Even tried moving pistons thru the intake ports and they are solid..no slap going on.One thing at a time.Going by last year and just by sitting in shed all summer.rings don't go bad by themselves. Will get it back together starting today and will see how she will ride.Alittlw to cold to go out,but maybe Thurs or Friday testing.
