SRX is now for barnyard non sanctioned only events. This old iron ruled the 700 class though 2003. Then the Firecat arrived. Racing any kind of sled requires lots of time and money. Dont spend either of your resources on the Viper or SRX. Now dont get me wrong I loved both machines in their day but its now 2010.

MAC I'm with you in the stock classes but don't agree when it comes to some of the mod classes. I still think the SRX can be a very strong runner on the ice in some of the classes..

I'm racing my stock SRX 700 and so far I took 2 first's and a second in 3 races I've went to, so they're still a force to be reckoned with even with the firecat F7 in stock classes
As long as there are all these clutch experts
in here these sleds will still hold there own

I have a tweeked 600 srx.Two of my buddies ride 05 F7's and this little 600 gives those cat's all they want to handle!
I run all summer and on the ice w/ mine, yeh the f7"s are fast but can be beat, heck who knows, maybe vintage class huh? It still takes a good sled to beat me, a real good sled, this sled is a bitch out of the gate, you sleep, I'LL get ya everytime.

THEY ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKON WITH, BUT NOT AT THE BIG RACES. SORRY GUYS. THE SRX IN ITS PRIME (stock class racin) WAS NOT AS FAST AS THE F-7 , ESPECIALLY ON GRASS. NOW I AM TALKING AT BIG EVENTS. NOT THE CLUB DRAGS. 3:16 (yammie tony)
I disagree with you and Mac!! You guys need to come to Minnesota and Wisconsin and then tell me that the SRX's don't still dominate!! This is at BIG events and small club events!!YAMMIEGOD3:16 said:THEY ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKON WITH, BUT NOT AT THE BIG RACES. SORRY GUYS. I found the Haydays grass drag results online. In 2002 1st and 2nd place SRX. In 2003 Firecat in the final four. I checked every year since 2002 all Firecat. SRX weighs roughly 52? pounds please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the Firecat was 80-85 lbs less. If you are seeing SRX winning races in 2010 its not Sanctioned Pro events. The SRX was the best handling trail sled I ever owned.
races in da morning let you know how the SRX is doing
Race two of them. One stock and if f7 is stock I can beat them. And I race a prostock 1000 srx. Had some isssues this year but should run very good when figure them out.

@the BIG events doesnt the guy with the DEEP pockets win? I know a guy real close to me here in michigan with alot of the wins Cat lays claim to, With close to $30,0000 invested in his STOCK F-7 he still runs & dominates in the STOCK classes!

Yes they are pro sanctioned events. The guys around here know how to really setup the SRX700's and they dominateMac said:I found the Haydays grass drag results online. In 2002 1st and 2nd place SRX. Exactly!!!!! That is the way it is everywhere!! The stock class is usually so vague on the requirements that it really isn't fair to the guy that shows up with a sled he can actually trail ride versus the guys who just use them for racing as the setup that is the best for just racing is not a trail rideable setup.Bushman said:@the BIG events doesnt the guy with the DEEP pockets win? those AC 800's must be complete junk, I have yet to here one positive thing about them and I hear of them getting walked on by smaller sleds all the time.and those HCR's are like 425 lbs or some shit, you would think they would fly.(before the fell apart of course)

Sno Pro and HCR - the new Cat-designed and Suzuki-built H.O. belches out 160+ horsepower. Some independent dyno shops report that on a hot motor and pipe, 165 to 167 horsepower is the norm. Suh-weet! Yet Cat comfortably claims 160.
