Dragg'n SRX's/Vipers

its upsetting to read about how light and powerful other sled manufactures are making they're sleds. Its only upsetting because Yamaha isn't competing. I think its awesome that these machines are breaking new ground year after year but why oh why isn't Yamaha making a machine that competes??? four stroke, four stroke, four stroke, i realize the advantages of gas efficiency and reliability but that's not why I ride. I want raw balls to the wall power. i want BRAP. lets not be so conservative just yet. lets make at least one more power house that makes other manufactures sweat. is this a bad way to be looking at things???? i hope im not hijacking here

The Japaneses are so conservative. It takes years of testing any new tech. prior to a release. This is one reason they are so reliable. I agree they disappoint with each years new release. Let me ask though. Is it smart not to release new machines when the economy is this bad. Very few people would buy even if they released something good. We need the three cylinder four stroke with a baby turbo making about 175 - 180hp. Low boost for reliability.

X2! yes

I disagree with you and Mac!! You guys need to come to Minnesota and Wisconsin and then tell me that the SRX's don't still dominate!! This is at BIG events and small club events!!

I agree with you SRX700 Guy. I run an 01 SRX 700 and I have not been beaten yet. I beat a F7 Fire Cat by 2 lenghts. Old Pat Hauck can put you in the winning circle with these sleds.

any of those f7 cats that are stock will not beat a stock srx and if u think so then i,m going 2 tar ur *** down when u beat the srx and u will be found cheating , any body who spends 30,000.00 dollars on a sled is not running stock u friut cake. they are stroked engines with the timing keys in them and modded ignitions. thats why we have regulations for racing , for those who cheat. and if i was goiung 2 race i would want 2 race a engine thats not going 2 blow up , so that leaves cat doo and polaris out in left field. and my yami in first place. my 2 cents

I have to back Tony and Mac in this one!! Pat has not won on an SRX at Haydays in years!!! How is he going to get you too win.. Small events yes, major events with top runners not a chance.. The SRX is at a major disadvantage when compared with the F-7 in stock class drag racing. A properly set up F-7 drag sled is a weapon! I bleed blue but still wouldn't bet on the SRX over the F-7.. Hope you have extra cash if you do..

WHATS YOUR POINT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I 100% AGREE AT SPEED RUNS. BUT NOT AT ISR GRASS DRAGS. TWO TOTALLY DEFFERNT TYPES OF RACING. HEY SRX700GUY. IF THE SRX CAN STILL WIN AT THE BIG RACES , THAN HOW COME NOBODY RUNS THEM ANYMORE. KEEP IN MIND I RUN TWO OF THEM.
AFEW EXAMPLES.
1. PAT HAUCK BROUGHT HIS 800 VMAX 4 BACK OUT WHEN THE SRX WAS NOT COMPETIVE ANYMORE.
2. ALLAN ULMER RACED A F-7 IN 2003
3. LOOK AT HAYDAYS RESULTS AFTER 2002.
I AM TALKING STOCK CLASS ISR GRASS RACING HERE. NOT BARN YARD RACING.
4. FASTEST SRX EVER RAN ON GRASS WAS 5.56 E.T.
5. I BELIEVE F-7 HAS RUN 5.34 E.T.
DUDE, MY HEART IS SRX TOO, BUT TIME PAST THEM UP. THEIR LONG IN THE TOOTH NOW. SORRY!! 3:16 (yammie tony)

I just hit my head when I fell off my chair reading tony promoting how fast firecats are...LOL
