extra virgin olive oil

budda...

Never used Redline in the engine but I'm told they make a mean shock and 4 stroke oil so I 'spect the injection oil would be good. Never much cared for Klotz mainly 'cause of the smell and frankly, clots isn't the first name I pick for a brand of oil.

Just bought a near $40.00 gallon of Interceptor. SOP for some 20 years without issue... No formal testing, just results. Near 100:1 multiple times in my dirt bikes and other 2 strokes and around 60:1 in my SRX, Indys and XCR.

The last junk Ryobi weedwacker I bought wouldn't rev out unless I ran it 100:1 it was so lean out of the box.

Which btw - I would highly recommend a Husqvarna w/wacker. Greatest headache reducer I bought in years. It has a catalyst so they run it nice and fat.

Having run Amsoil since day one I don't know the affects it has on valve deposits, but I can say a/f ratios seem to have the biggest affect regarding carbon deposits, especailly the valves on my SRX from what I've seen.

If I go much beyond 1500 miles they're stuck lightly in the bores.

Seems we all can claim different experiences...

I could write article after article and get WELL KNOWN gurus out there to tell everyone that SNOW CONDITIONS ,,, TEMPERATURE,,, AIR/FUEL ratio and DRIVING HABITS have MUCH MORE to do with the cleanliness of power valves than BRANDS of oil does,,, but PEOPLE JUST DONT GET IT !!! They think YAMALUBE is the way to go,, they swear by using BP gasolines and they WILL NOT GO OUTSIDE with a "WET HEAD".. Some people are just BIGTIME DUMMIES and cannot see beyond the nose on their face...

I set my oil adjustment to full pull and my plugs look great. Maybe its because I'm always wide open that my engine runs clean. And yes I do use KLOTZS. ---Mac---

Sorry Jeff... that was my poor attempt at a joke... rather than EVOO, I was suggesting butter. Just drop a heated grip in the tank to keep it liquid. I'm sure it'd smell nice.

All is well, you and yours?

Here's my philosophy on oil that was learned from an 80 year old Massey dealer. The guy had been selling and servicing tractors/farm equipment and a multitude of other things his whole life (literally). Retired the day he died.

Whilist, chating with him one day a long time customer of his walked in the door and said "Hey Gordie, there was a guy stopped out at the farm and was trying to sell me on this new oil. He did all kinds of tests comparing his oil to mine and his oil beat mine in every one of them. He said I should used this stuff in all my tractors including my Super 90 (a Massey with a Perkins diesel from the early 60's that was 35 years old at the time) What do ya think? Should I try this stuff?"

Gordies reply was this, (question) " How many hours do you have on that 90 now?" (answer from customer), " Oh, just short of 11,000" (Gordies second question), "Ever had the engine apart?", (answer from customer), "Nope." (Gordies final answer), "Sounds like what yer doin is workin, I wouldn't change a thing."

SIMPILE LOGIC from a wise old bird.

Bottom line is, If it works for you, it's good, if not do some reserch and make a change, but don't just change cuz some windy SOB says you should.

I have found that following others opinions for reasons I can't verify ALWAYS!! gets me in trouble.

I would like to extend a sorry out to all the guys who have fallen for Amsoil's marketing scheme, and wish you the best of luck with your engine components.

Geeez Spinner, your oil accumen is just simply astounding. You make me afraid to admit I am a lifelong Amsoil user.....

I actually think your anti-Amsoil statements are a bunch of crap, said with all sincerity.

It's not just marketing, they make good stuff, period. Redline is also great, yes, but there is nothing wrong with Interceptor or Dominator oils. In fact, many use these oils and have found them to be an excellent oil.

You actually sound like you have some axe to grind with Amzoil. If so, sorry to hear about it. But keep the opinions on a lower decibel level when you have nothing but hearsay to back up your claims..........

Regards all,

Mike

Lets say you knew a guy selling diamond rings... he will sell you a diamond ring for HALF the cost as you could buy it anywheres else,,,, the only problem is that IT WAS STOLEN from a corpse from a cemetary just a few weeks ago.. It is the EXACT SAME ring that you wanted from the local jeweler... The local jeweler's ring is BRAND NEW,, but SO IS THE ONE from the corpse...it was just on her hand when she got T BONED in a fatal car crash a few weeks ago.... they are both NEW and BOTH made on the SAME DAY by the SAME MANUFACTURER.... One was on a girls hand and one never left the jeweler..... MOST PEOPLE would have a problem with buying a "second hand" or SPOILED RING.. WELL...... Thats the same thing people talk about with AMSOIL'S marketing strategy.. Without getting into WHO did WHAT and WHO SCREWED WHO,,, You can call my cell phone and I will be GLAD to tell you the story. (312-617-0303) AMSOILS MARKETING STRATEGY has been LYING AND CHEATING and MAKING UP BULLCRAP comparisons to try and ELIMINATE the competition so THEY can sell more oil.. Not caring about the OTHERS (that had a MUCH BETTER PRODUCT) and THROWING GARBAGE around (untrue garbage) and making their product something that it's NOT !!! You can say that "thats the AMERICAN WAY" so,,, you can ALSO TAKE IT when someone tells you about their HORSESHiT marketing strategies.....

Call me up Mike and I'll tell you all about it Gary Oles 312-617-0303.. You'd be ASTONISHED on the crap they pull

I must say that I was quite pleased with it aswell untill I realized that it was my brain that filled in those blanks. Now I'm not sure if I should be pleased or disturbed. Anywho no sense in worrying about it as it is what I have to work with.

So thanks for the kind words. I just hope snotboy's sense of humor is as well endowed as yours. If not the game could go into overtime. ;)

Once again..

No issues with Interceptor,if jetting, oil pump setting(50:1) and she's not loading up from grama driving you'll have no problems.

interceptor is a high Calcium formula(for PV use) so if your valves are sticking you got other issues.

anyway $.02 i love the stuff.....
