well I got to finish up with the re-build and put everything back together. No extra parts laying around..so all is good.I got her going after adding gas to the plugs about 5 times. The whole system was dry for a while.Had some issues with the circulation of the cooling system.Had to finally take the seat off and remove bleed bolt.Nothing was coming out.Filled reservoir almost to the top and still no fluid .I added extra thru the bleed hole. Finally reved motor up and she started spitting coolant and air out and the exchangers warmed up very quickly.Still seems to have that fast idle from last year.Takes a while to drop down.I have fuel screws opened to 2.5 turns yet.My pilots stock are 42.5. Would it help in the future to put 45 pilots in especially on a 600 motor..don't know.Started it up and pulled the oil cable for a couple of minutes making sure she gets oil.She is smokin now as you will see in the videoThis is my 2nd re-build and the motors are running.Got to have some luck sometime..lol.
All I have to do is bearing work in the skid yet on both sleds.Snow is around the corner ..let her rip!!!!

thanks SWEDE.Stock and bored out yes..does sound nice and crisp. Can't wait to open her up and feel the new found power. The re-build was a learning experience, but go by the book, use OEM parts and a little luck and you might just win for a change...was way cheaper re-building my 2 sleds then buying one new sled..

True, I rebuilt the topend on my sled last fall and it was a nice improvement. It didn't run bad before, but was noticeably crisper and smoother running after a new topend.

better come down Scott and work on your sled yet.You have to change your chaincase oil, probably should change your coolant..usually every season, check all your skid bearings..etc...You'll be workin on it while I'll be riding...lol

well I worked on the skid last few days.Removed it and took all bearings out ,cleaned therm and re-packed them. The time I spent on this saved me a lot on new bearings. There were only 2 bushings that needed replacing and that was on the w-arm .Others were still fine.I did use the metal shim trick also on some of them and it seemed to have saved them bushings with no wear noticeable.Re-tightened track to about 1 3/16" drop with 22 lb weight.A little grease yet and the 600 is ready for snow.At least I know the bearings are all good for this season.W-arm is in excellent shape. That beefing up I did a few years back really did do the trick. No breaks or cracks anywhere in the entire skid, and this sled I do some rough riding and crazy jumps..tough suspension.
