yep, stock 8dn-20 weights suck for "pull" IMO. there is a noticable change in "pull", from 8bu's to 8dn's.

when it gets colder out,I will test them again..may be a while only. For time being the 8dn's loaded up 4.5/5.4g seem to get the job done.RPM's are on target.
On a scale of greatest to worst what do you guys think/know pulls the hardest out of the Yammie weights that we use. 8DN's, 89a-10's, 8BU's etc???

it is so hard to say.Every sled is different, every rider weighs different. There is hard pack snow and there is ice, studs or no studs. So mant factors come into play.If you can reach that magic number of 8450-8500 and still pulling..keep that setup.
I'm only looking for a ballpark answer. Not exact numbers. More just seat of the pants results what you percive to be best to worst for pull???
8dn- are great weight for trail riding .....the other are very aggresive from a dead spot .....need different helix to make them work

8BU-00 '' PULL '' THE HARDEST. NOTHING CLOSE. BUT 8BU-10 ARE FASTER AND WILL RUN A WAY BETTER TOP SPEED. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I wonder why the current world record srx speed run doesnt run 8bu-10s??, somehow they are going even faster with some other oem yamaha weight..............hmmmm
