Did you check and clean or remove the fuel screens under the float bowl needle seat? They can cause mysterious and repeat engine damage. I have removed them on all my sleds so I don't have to worry about them plugging up and I just rely on the fuel tank filter like every other sled manufacturer does.

I always thought it shouldn't need such large mains and jetting it larger even to 165s seemed to have little effect on the way it ran. I decided to install larger Q-8 needle jets and then the sled was so rich at full throttle I had to jet it way down to 155s to get it to run properly!
Once I established that my sled was lean on the needle jet/needles I then went back to the stock Q-6s but have the needles on the 4th clip and my jetting is in the 155 - 158.8 range.
Worked for me!
