When I guessed 147hp it was for 8500rpm...seems I almost nailed it!
Thanks for posting all of the numbers...I am suprised the sled made more power above 8600 after it dropped off???!!!

Yup I was thinking the same thing, Bob. It drops 3 horse then picks up 6 100 rpm later. So do you clutch it to hit 8500 pulling to 8700?

i had 9 pulls today, all of them no matter what jetting was made peak at 8800 rpms. we tested airbox vs no airbox also.
first run, no airbox 152.5's = 145.5hp@8700 90.3tq@8100
second run, no airbox M 150 C 150 P 151.3= 146.7hp@8800 91.9tq@8200
third run, no airbox M 147.5 C 147.5 P 148.8= 145.1hp@8800 86.8tq@8100
fourth run, airbox same jetting as above 144.8hp@8600 91.7tq@8100
fifth run, airbox M 143.8 C 143.8 P 146.3= 147.1hp@8800 93.2tq@8200
sixth run, airbox M 141.3 C 141.3 P 141.3= 151.2hp@8800 92.5tq@8300

stock pipes & stock ignition making peak h.p. @ 8800 rpm? not likely.
based on the erratic h.p. @ peak rpm's i'd say the dyno brake was slipping.

Stick with around the stock 8500rpm and use that torque,,,,,,

from what i gathered from talking to mark is that it should run at 8800? either way ive got some testing to do. this sickness never ends! ive never had anything dyno-ed before so if anyone could give me some feedback on my dyno sheets above that would be great.

Interesting... I've never had anything dynoed either.

i talked to mark about this and he told me, "The cylinder head modification is absolutely necessary for making power up top. The dip in the
curve is caused by the delta/angle of reproach vs. the piston and that needs to be correct for power up top." i will be having my heads cut to his suggestions and re dynoing it to see if it helps out. he also told me that my engine should be running 92-9400 rpms.

your rpm/h.p. #'s make no sense?? stock cdi & pipes fall off after 85-8600.
a good trail port job w/ mild comp. should make around 155 h.p. w/ a safe bsfc around 0.65 @ 85-8600.

DUDE I Made SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN YOU WITH THAT 2000 RACE BOX I GOT FROM YOU AND THIS SLED IS STILL LEGAL IN STOCK CLASSES ON GRASS AT C & H HERE IN NY. IF HE WANTS YOUR PEAK AT 9400, THATS WAY MORE THAN A fast TRAIL PORT JOB. MY SRX ACTED LIKE IT FELL OF A TABLE AT 8600. MY SWEET SPOT WAS 8100 TO 8500. HP AND TORQUE DID NOT DROP UNTIL I HIT 86. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Not with stock pipes!
This is why it is so important that the porting specs have to match the pipes design so everything is in harmony at the proper RPM for max power.

right i understand that part. he reccomended either shortening my pipes or finding a set that will run that high.

GIAMETTI,s MOTORS THAT SPIN AT 9500 ARE RACE MOTORS. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ONLY HAVE THE APPETIZER THERE AND NOT THE FULL COURSE MEAL. THAT GUY BUILT SOME REAL NICE MOTORS. 3:16 (yammie tony)
