On my 2000 srx all my studs are run down the middle, nothing on the outside, seems to work pretty good that way.

yep remove the outside ones for sure, track will like it better.I have 144 down the middle on my 1 inch Kimpex track..96 should be good. You can go and add the ones from the outside to the middle.Just pick spots to make new scratch lines.

I use the doubles and singles.Followed the Woody's template.I started with 96 and then later when to 120 and finally to 144.The SRX will still spin the track with 144 on ice..but it will grab a little faster...I really don't have a good pic to show you right now..sorry.

I think I might buy 48 double backers and ad the studs from the outside to the inside to make 144 down the center
I'm a very aggressive rider, it's either full throttle or full brake for me
So I think 96 might not be enough

That's probably a good idea, from the sounds of it you'll need the traction the extra studs will give you.

Went to royal distributing today and picked up 48 double backers, drive shaft and jack shaft bearing kits, hyfax and stuff for my bike...
I need carbides too but I haven't decided what to get yet for 144 studs down the center
I was thinking 4.5 inch studboy duece bars http://www.studboytraction.com/wearbars/deucebar.html
Anybody have any experience with these?

with that many studs..go at least with 6 inch carbides. You can try the Shaper bars as well.Mind you the dual carbide bars are like Shaper bars.

Put your viper gas tank on as well. Fits better and eliminates those screws showing where the srx seat used to hook in the front

If I still had the tank I would. The screws dont bother me that much and it fits great. mabye down the road ill buy a tank but I'm gonna leave it for now

That's my sons old sled ,we traded it off for a 03 honda shadow last February to a guy from stoney creek . It originally belonged to a lady who bought it new . It was spotless when we sold it . I'm sure it will look great when your done . We had it radared at 116 mph on the lake last year with a 160 pound rider all stock .
