YES!!! The cylinder was okey! The piston has melted on the front all the way down to the piston ring. Maybe a bad picture but i think you should be able to see what´s happen.
I can´t tell you how happy i am right now!

Does anyone have any idea why this happen?

When i have change the piston, i will ride with the standard single pipe, just in case.

When you pull the carbs to change the jetting drain each float bowl into a glass by using the drain on the bowl to see if any water drops go to the bottom, That would be lean from either water, lack of octane in the fuel or the fuel pump not having enough volume... Unless there was a airleak @ the carb? Git R done & have fun! Bushman

If you are looking to go higher check out the type I used from Rox. I think the highest they make is 5" but the nice thing about them is the ability to go forward and backward as opposed to just "getting a rise". I'm 5'10" so the 2" is pretty good for me. If I was hardcore standup I would have considered at least 3.5", but the big problem then is the cables and wiring. I know mountain cables are long enough, but the wiring harness looks like it would become a problem. I don't know how you work around that one?

Here's a pic. Notice I was actually able to move the bars forward instead of keeping them in line with the steering shaft. The adjustability is sweet.

I just bought the same riser and installed it. Did you get rid of the bronze colored loop on the front of the base that holds the cables? If I leave this on my oil pump cable seperates at the link by the carbs making it use more oil. From the picture I cant see it. But what a improvement on the comfort. Will a Viper mountian handlebar pad cover up the exposed area at the base?

I also just installed that as it looked sweet from these pics and advice, and I took it off of mine. actually had bad luck and as I backed out one of the bolts it sharpened the threads (stripped) and I was only able to get it like 1/2 the bolt back in. I will need to retap the steering column this summer. nothing to do with the risers as it happened as I was taking apart the stock stuff, musta gotten stripped when put together originally :( other than that, it is amazingly comfortable, makes me sit up straight so my back stays more comfy. went 200 miles the first day I installed and felt better than when I got on!!! thanks for the advice and pics!!

Glad you guys like the Rox stuff. I was real happy with mine even though they cost a little more. Yes, ditch the anodized cable loop. Removing it will allow a little more free play for the cables. I've had no problem with cable length.

I had the same experience after I rode mine with the riser installed. SOOOO much more comfortable and significantly easier on the arms and sholders. The increased control and stand up ability are sweet as well.

I don't know if the mountain pad will cover it up or not. IMO I actually think the Rox risers are visually aceptable given the nice billet aluminum finish. ;)!

Went out for the last ride 3 weeks ago. I had the bars move when we were boondocking. The bolts are tight?? Any ideas from keeping this from happening? I was thinking of knurling the riser base as this is were it is moving. The bar mounting is fine cause the bars have splines. A buddy said to try green loctite on the caps?? Any ideas would be great! ;)!

The lower dowel is smooth from the riser and the cap and base is smooth as well, but the bar has splines. I would think they would have put splines on the riser base end?? I didnt think I pulled too hard on the bar to make them move.

haven't had any trouble with mine. Try emailing/calling the mfg. and see what they say. A good company will listen and try to satisfy you. I agree though, the smooth rounds ends should be splined.

Reply from Rox today here is the solution:

Yes, here is a Arctic Cat part #0605-676. The risers will never move with
these clamps. They are a cast steel caps with three lines or teeth if you
will in them. You will need 2 of them. We have designed and made some
locking caps that worked great but are a bit more expensive than these so at
this time we just refer customers to this part.
;)!

same reason I keep using the same dealer for my sleds. customer service seems so easy, yet SOOOOO important
