Expert X or Triple Pipes?

what is your biggest complaint? ride or power? i have the expert x and love it.
in my opinion it is a fantastic addition. both have pros and cons. really depends on you.
i have read about a lot of people with tripple pipes having a lot of problems.
obviously you can't just bolt on pipes and go. you will need to rejet your carbs. probably want to update clutch with a kit. add a rear heat exchanger if you dont already have one. with the added horsepower i would recomend installing a torque arm
the list goes on and on.
if you install the expert x it is a little bit of work but the payoff is huge and all you need comes with it. no hidden costs or things to update or modify later.
when i bought my viper i was thinking about the the pipes too but i went with the expert x and i am positive i made the right choice.
 
Expert X.....I put a 136" Expert X with a 9819 track and CPR pipes on my 02' Viper. I put the Expert on first and was amazed at the difference....it hooked up great, Zero track spin off the line. I put the pipes on and I couldn't get it to hook up as well but the extra power was nice. You will see the best improvement with the Expert X off the line and more top end improvement with the pipes.

The pipes will give you top end but you will sacrifice mucho mpg and reliability plus not get a thing back when you sell. The Expert X does not have a downside and improves resale.

I have both Pipes and expertX.
Love both, but it depends on what you want more. More Power and speed=>pipes; Better suspension and better hook-up=> expertX
Pipes will cost you MPG, expertX will sacrafice the slot car like on rails feel in the corners when on the gas.
 
I don't know what your guys are doing, but my pipes have effected my gas mileage minimally. I love the power and it's not just top end I found dramatically increased power through the entire power band. To each his own, but I love the pipes and I plan on getting a 136" expert X this summer.
 
I have both on a sx. If you don't mind fooly around with pipes the fun factor increased a lot more with the pipes than with the X. But its a close 2nd.
 
Thanks alot guys i realy don't know what to choose but i think that it might be the expert x but i love the idea about the pipes for the power. The reason that i was looking at the X is because they don't kill your gas milage :( . I saw someones post that said that it really didn't. LaLaLa
 
When I went out west, I used the same amount of gas as poo 700 and 800 stock sleds,
less then a skidoo 800 summit (old body) and more then a MM700 peak head & can
this was after a day of tweaking! was pig FAT to begin with
 
Non-cermaic coated the pipes will run you around $800, and that is if you don't order their clutch kit for the pipes as well. With ceramic coating (which i recommend), they will be around $1,000 (again, without the clutch kit). An expert will run you in the neighborhood of $1400 for the setup, maybe $1500 depending on who you can get it from.
 
Thanks i would def. like to get the ceramic coating just because it looks sooooooo gggggrrrreeeaaattt :WayCool: i have it done on my old 500 phazer because we piped it and it looks sweet ;)! :WayCool: How much does the clutch kit cost?
