The skinny on Yamalube (by nosboy)

KLOTZ used castor or "bean oil" is what they call it in the "business" in their SUPER TECHNIPLATE oil that was around about FIFTEEN or TWENTY YEARS AGO the last time I saw or HAD any of it.. I had a 1981 SRX that was premixed with super TECHNIPLATE.. The oil would turn into BALLS or GLOBULES closely resembling the sticky stuff that you get on the back of a new credit card when it's attached to paper when it;s sent to you in the mail.. A type of rubber cement that is very pliable... CASTOR BEAN OIL would do that because of it's "unstability" in petroleum (gasoline) products.. it was just a part of life and castor bean oil CONTINUES to be a problem in today's fuels...... it 's been OVER TWENTY FIVE YEARS since I've been in the "labs" in school and I've been working as a CONSTRUCTION MACHINIST for the past TWENTY YEARS>>> The stuff that I'm telling you today is from WHAT I REMEMBER from a long time ago AND somewhat of what I read occasionally.. I am into RACECARS from APRIL to OCTOBER and into SNOWMOBILES from OCTOBER to March... From March to April, I am into PORNOGRAPHY (just kidding) From march to April,, I am reading MAGAZINES and looking HOW to go faster without breaking the rules.....

The W in tcw3 does not mean winter lol Just that one comment destroys this guys credibility. Also castor has a higher flash point and some argue that running a semisyn will protect better especially if something goes wrong and there is a lean condition.

CASTOR OIL
By Bert Striegler
So, seriously here, Castor oil is used in model airplane engines not in large motorsport engines. I hope that No One has read this and actually thought about running Castor in thier sleds! How long does a model engine run for... 10 - 15 minutes until its out of fuel and by then it is cooled off changed the oil and its time to fly again. We ride sleds for 8 - 12 hours a day, stop for fuel and pull the cord and off we go again before the engine has a chance to cool down. No Way am i running castor oil! I need something I can depend on to protect my sleds!
This is an internet site with lots of internet engineers and the more I read the more I believe that. You could sit here and do searches all day long and find all kinds of opinions from all over the world, Heck, i could even write a blog about how Urine is a good lubricant and I bet there would be someone in the world who would give it a try.
I still see no proof about NosBOy having a BS. in anything, other than a 1 line post in this thread. If I had one I would be proudly stating which college I had graduated from, All I see is that he is a Machinist from chicago. Bert Striegler is a Lubrication Engineer and not a chemist, I do not believe that a synthetic lube can give give a 25,000 mile warranty on an oil that will seperate or unzipper and be no good. This seems like a really strange statement. It may hold true in Remote control engines but not in power sports.
We should read knowledgeable sources information and decide from there. read between the advertising lines that companies hire people to create. False information can not be given without a penalty from the government. Go to the different websites and read about the products you are interested in, make your desicion from there. Amsoil,Klotz,Royal Purple, whatever else you are thinking. If the information you are looking for is not on the website, chances are you have heard false information from your internet guru's.

Where did this statement come from? Did I miss somthing? Who said anything about model airplane engines?

should have been a period after here. "So, (pause) Seriously here. (stop) (breathe) (start next sentence with a statement). Castor oil is used in model airplane engines."
Sorry about the miss punctuation. Read some of Berts articles.

I'm not telling anybody to run 100% castor oil just showing a writeup done that shows the pros and cons of different oils. Nos boy stated that synthetic is better under ANY conditions thsats why I posted the article. And no I never heard any false info from any gurus except for the stuff u just posted about model airplanes. Maxima racing usa sells Castor 927 which is a biodegradable simi-syn oil that LOTS of 2 stroke dirtbike guys run, since its not meant for injection systems you cant run it in a sled but they do make the stuff. When sombodys telling people that tcw3 is a "winter oil" and thats what the w means in tcw3(meanwhile its an outboard oil and not nearly the best oil to run in a sled)(no offence nos boy 25 years is a long time) that is false info, not posting an article by a respected lubrication engineer. Also camparing synthetic oil for a car thats good for 25000 miles isnt the same as a synthetic 2 stroke oil, its like comparing apples to oranges.

TCW3 is a spec just like jaso and SAE/ API services S? or C?... You can use TCW3 oil in the winter if its specified by the MFG.. 10 W 30 the W means winther and I hopefully corrected myself..... TCW3 wasn't around 25 years ago???????????????

You corrected yourself, I was saying that because you stated that the info you were telling us was what you remembered from a long time ago its all good anyway.

I know Citgo makes most oil's. One of their versions is the Mystic brand, have you heard of ?

Ran Mystic full syn last year and will continue to use it. And for those of you in the Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin area, I was able to get it at Farm & Fleet on sale for $19 bucks and change. That's for 1 Gallon. Kinda hard to beat for that price.

Lord I apologize for resurrecting this thread. And please help the starving pigmys in New ginnea...AMEN

Well, the U.S. actually imports most of it's oil from Canada. Not many commies or terrorists there.

I was actually just kidding with you -- use what you want. It could be an urban legend that Venezuela own Citgo for all I know.

But I just won't buy the stuff just in case that commie bastard owns it.

;)! ;)! ;)! ;)!

Didn't even know we got oil from Up nort. Figured it all came from the middle east or South American countries.
Anyone know of any websites that can tell us what oil companies are friendlies?
