Sorry for upsetting anyone , all I was doing was giving my opinion on a topic . Like I said I am a big fan of Yamaha that is why I am on this site, I just think that Yamaha has a lot of technology that they are not using and it is to bad because they can and have done some cutting edge things in the past.I just don't understand why when someone gives there opinion that some may not agree with how that is crying. I stand by what I said and think, and will say no more about it .I will agree with everyone that this is a great site and I enjoy it and the people very much. Lets just agree to disagree.

I want my next sled to be lighter than my viper er not heavier so muscle sleds dont interest me in the least. My Viper is faster than I need so light weight and good handling are most important to me.

Yammies have always been a little heavier and a little lower in horsepower compared to the other manufacturers, but they always seem to run close to if not in front of the pack. It puts a smile on my face every time my SRX 700 or Apex ER beats a higher horsepower sled, my smile gets even bigger when the excuses start to fly.

I really think it has to do with efficiency. its the japanese way lol!! get more to the ground so you dont need as high strung of a motor. makes it last longer that way as well

I'm sorry I was rude to you 540. Although I responded to you personally my rant was really directed to the general posters that every year start going on about how Yamaha isn't doing as good a job as the other brands with the new releases. Your points are valid and you have th rite to state you opinion without some overage underpaid cranky dipstick bitching at you.

Someone mentioned that they see more yamahas on the trail than any other brand? Up here I would have said just the opposite. I see very few yamahas out on the trail when I ride, I must just ride at the wrong time or something. I still haven't seen any of the new phazers out and about.
I bought yamaha based on how the dealer treated me, not brand loyalty. But I do think that I have found that the yamahas have been very reliable. I have also heard the comments that they are an "old mans sled". Judging from the "post your age" thread I guess it very well may be? I dunno, been pretty happy with the yammie so far. But based on my experience (very limited) I wouldn't rule out another manufacturer sled based on brand name alone.
