LB what size carbs are you running. Those look like Phil Stanley pipes, did he do your msd? Also is the water rail on top of the heads custom or can you get one somewhere? I have a price 1000 that I run on the ice.

The carbs are 52mm Crankshops.(D slides) The pipes are Phil's pipes. (he does an awesome job) The MSD is the dip switch style.(Phil uses a Digitail 7 box) We purchased a Cat MSD set up and had to machine our own trigger plate and machined our own light wght flywheel. MSD doesn't offer anything for the Yammi's so we had to make our own. Let me tell you that ignition is the way to go!!! As for the water rail, that is a Price cooling rail. You run yours just on the ice?

That should lighten it up.Are you going to take the stock boat anchor ski's off and put some sly dogs on or something light.
I don't know if I would put power madd drag ski's on going 150+ though.
It's not much but you can take out the stock steel bumper supports and put some aluminum viper one's in.

Thanks for the infor LB. I plan on running 52's instead of the 48 trons I ran this year. Yes Phil's pipes are artwork. I planned on having him make me a set this fall but I may try dynoport instead as I got info from Lanny that they make a bunch more power. We will see. Those are Price's new cylinders I assume. All I got was two holes in the head with 3/4" nipple. Yes just the ice for me. Grass is too dirty! If there was a track that closer I would like to try asphalt. Another thing, if you are still running that roller clutch get a button you will be much happier and go quicker.

San Marino Racing should be able to get you all the MSD parts to work on a SRX.

A button is more forgiving on most traction issues and will give you a bigger window to clutch in. A roller works super but EVERYTHING has to be right.

That secondary clutch we are not using. that was off our trail sled. At the time we were checking alignment for the stock clutch. We are actually running a bearcat secondary now. The bearcat works so much better in the dirt.
toydoc- We already got in contact with Joe Riccardi. He like many others uses the Digitial 7 box from MSD. We wanted to use the Muliti channel ignition mainly because of ease of tuning and for the ability to make changes quickly. I have heard so many theories on these 2 boxes. So I am going off the theory that either one of these will work a hell of alot better than the stock ignition.
Danger Dog- I believe you have to call and order the rail seperatly from Price. We were using 44 trons before the cranks. I like the cranks due to the fact they use Mikuni parts, and you can get them anywhere. If you decide to try the Dyno Port pipes let us know how they work out for you. I would be very interested in hearing how well they work. Also I see you are from Vermont? We will be having a race in Monkton VT this year. Look for us if you go we will be there. We are repainting the sled though to match our PS 800 Cat. It will be painted in the Copper Head color.

Who's pipes are on it now? I will tell you one thing, we have been very happy with the results we have been having with Phil's pipes. He did a fantastic job designing and building them. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

sxr Mark at price did the motor. I think Bill Price actually built it. Lb I have jaws on it now, the fitting of the pipes is not good. They are not cylinderical. Valin how do you like the cutler carbs? Are they easy to tune and what size?

I run 48's. Yes, they are very easy to tune. They run all mikuni brass, and have 3 external fuel screws to add up to 4 jet sizes per circuit (3/8 throttle, 5/8 throttle, and 7/8 throttle). Each circuit is independant from the rest. They are built very well, and IMO, are probably the best overall carburetor available. The lectrons might be better for just racing, but the CPC's will work excellent everywhere.

They are staight 48's. I am surprized that you did not go bigger for speed running. I leaning towards 52's.

With the limited flow of the SX bottom end, I don't think that larger than 48mm carburetors would benefit the motor.

Joe Riccardi tried running larger carbs in the past, up to 56mm MRE's, and gained no additional hp from the 48's.

The new chassis will arrive for my race sled on Monday.... I'm excited.

I picked up the chassis on Monday for $1000. It ended up being a very good deal. It is Joe Riccardi's old chassis (San Marino Racing), and was the old home for the motor I am running. I'll get some pictures up shortly, although it is going to end up looking very similar to my other chassis when it is completed. The parts I snagged with this chassis are:

- Custom cable steering system built by Tim Spencer Racing
- Mountain Performance trailing arms, steering arms, and radius rods and steering rods.
- MicroBelmont titanium jackshaft keyed for bearcat secondary
- MicroBelmont microalloy driveshaft, machined and keyed for brakedisk
- Crankshop magnesium chaincase, dropped and rolled
- Custom lightweight hood with molded, closed off vents
- Custom lightweight seat
- 136" tunnel extension, with the coolant reservoir on the rear extension

I also had a progressive nitrous controller thrown in on the deal made by NOS systems, model #15834NOS. I will need that this season for the bike, but next season on the sled as well
