I think this is kinda getting beat to death isnt it? Bluemonster, I understand your trying to learn but how many times can you ask something about helixs and clutching??? You just went thru all this same questions and post with the 8dn 20's. Do some reading and go out and test, write notes down and youll soon give yourself a education on how clutching works. Keyboard tuning gets you no where.Theres plenty of information in the FAQ section pertaining to this. I am just giving you constructive criticism, not picking on you. Theres a couple more here doing the same thing, but you guys have to do some work on your own, and yes youll spend some money doing it, we all have. We give you guys set ups and then you question/argue as to its validity. I and others have spent the money and time to set them up, can only get you so close the rest is up to the sled owner, thats the real world.
The simple reason you can sometimes run slightly steeper finish with a big bore or a correctly ported 700 is it makes MORE HP!, More hp requires more weight! So,you can only fit about 7 grams in the tip of H/c's, there physically isnt anymore room to the side of the spiders pocket, so therefore to load the motor more you have to start going up in finish angle, this loads the motor now thru the secondary clutch as well. You need a shallow finish with H/C's to run good all the way thru, only with added hp will you be able to start going up in angle and gain speed. No one has a crystal ball to tell you exactly to what exact degree every part you need for your paticular sled, theres too many varibles, sled mods, rider weight, traction, chassis set up, no 2 are ever the same, so you must tune your set up to you!
