How many Canadian members on here? Who and where are you from?

I'm in Midland Ontario. I've borrowed sleds from a friend the past few years for the 2-3 times a year we get together for a weekend of small lake and bush riding up in Muskoka. This year I figured I best get my own, so I picked up a 92 Exciter II in great shape. My buddies are Yamaha guys so I figured I'd follow suit. He has a SRX 700 stretched, my other friend has a 95 VMAX.

I am from Winnipeg. I currently own a 1998 Venture 700, 1998 XTC 500, A hot-rodded 1997 600 SX and 2 1975 Merc Sno-twisters.....pictures to follow.

Cool thread Doug. I live just East of Winnipeg. Have a 2000 SXR 700, 98 ZR 500 and I am the current TY summer build contest winner with my 95 Vmax4 800, called Dragula. Cut and sell firewood for a living. It was too hard to read all of the posts but all I can say is 'go Canada, eh'.

We don't need insurance its free, if we get sick you don't lose your house or have to pay big$$$$. I haved 10 knee OPS and one heart and a brokend back didn't cost me a dime, best in the world IMO

well we sort of pay towards health care as nothing is free..we pay the Government tax's and this covers our healthcare..still like turch said..we don't have to sell our homes....lol

It's not all gum drops and lollipops. My wife is American so I've seen both sides in person. Our system is free but we pay high taxes, our vision care, prescriptions, and dental are not paid, unless you have private extended coverage through work or an insurance company. If you have full coverage in the US the care is better IMHO. In a Canadian emergency room you'll wait forever. When I take my kids to the childrens hospital 4-6 hours is the norm, usually 3-4 for myself. I've taken them to emergency rooms in Utah, Colorado and New York and every time we strolled right thorough the waiting room to a doctor. My theory is that when it's free people go to the emergency room for a stupid reason where if they have to pay they think twice about going, but when it comes down to it I'd rather have our socialist system, I can't image loosing a house or being in financial trouble for health care. I believe the US is the only first world country without universal health care.
